Novak felt something profound within him, a power so tangible and overwhelming that it resonated throughout his being. This power, unmistakably, was granted by the two formidable professions he now possessed.
Steadying his turbulent emotions, Novak finally focused his attention on his first profession:
> [Soul of Life (SSS) (First Phase): Each level grants +10 to Strength and Agility, and +15 to Constitution and Spirit! Every level-up also provides 20 additional free attribute points for distribution!]
Novak's eyelids fluttered, absorbing the significance of this power. The base attribute increase alone made him exhale in amazement. With each level, he gained a total of 50 growth points! Compared to the 15-point growth from his former S-level profession, Demon Hunter, this new profession was more than three times as powerful—and that wasn't even counting the additional free attribute points!
Although the attributes were staggering, they weren't the most critical advantage. Novak knew that the essence of an SSS-level profession lay in its unique skills. He glanced down the list, and indeed, under the Soul of Life profession, several skills had already unlocked:
> [Plague (Professional Power): Allows control over all plague-type creatures and entities afflicted with plague, provided their attributes are not higher than your own. The user is immune to all plague, poison, and related effects. Each creature controlled enhances the strength of this skill and increases mastery over viral and fungal pathogens.]
> [Plague Sun (Professional Skill): A manifestation of disease, spreading under the guise of sunlight. You can create a "Plague Sun" with your energy, spreading and controlling viruses within its rays. Duration is limitless, maintained as long as mental energy sustains its size and radiance.]
> [Black Death (Professional Skill): An extraordinary virus. Any infected creature contracts Black Death, marked by ominous black spots. Each spot inflicts viral damage and triggers an immediate mortality check. Cooldown: None; each infection triggers an additional infection roll.]
Novak blinked. He had undergone a profession change, but apart from his core professional power, he had only two skills unlocked?! Could these two skills alone define an SSS-level class?
Though more skills might unlock as he progressed, the initial offering felt somewhat sparse. Compared to other professions with extensive abilities, these two seemed less impressive on the Cosmic Will Evolutionary panel.
Rather than turning to examine his second profession, Abyss Master, Novak took a moment to test his abilities. He stretched out his hand, fingers poised with intent.
Zogwort, observing, was puzzled but couldn't look away.
Then, a radiant beam of light emerged from Novak's palms, expanding into a dark green glow, tinged with shadows, which spread to envelop the entire mountainside.
It was an immense sun—pure black with dark green radiance. The whole Abyss terrain was soon bathed in its ominous glow.
Within a full thousand meters, they were completely shrouded by this ink green light.
Moreover, Novak's spiritual power is enough to supply this huge sun for an extremely long time, after all, he is not doing his best!
It is conceivable how far the Plague Sun will be covered.
Though the 'Plague Sun' covered a vast area, it was not just its size that made the skill terrifying. As the dark green sun rose, demons across the abyss instinctively turned toward the light, compelled to face its eerie glow.
The dark green light fell upon the demons' faces, casting an ominous hue across their skin—and then, something dreadful began to unfold. Barely an instant after looking upon the 'Plague Sun', the demons began to cough violently, their mouths filling with blood. Within a fraction of a second, inky black spots began appearing on their bodies, spreading quickly under the sun's sickly green rays.
From the moment they were touched by the light, it took less than three seconds. The blackened spots covered their bodies entirely, and then—one by one—their crazed, bloodthirsty eyes went wide in shock, they gasped, and fell dead.
It wasn't just inflammation from a viral infection or the failure of organs; the black plague spots had transformed into a formidable skill, transcending a mere viral ability into something 'Extraordinary'.
In mere moments, every living demon within range of the 'Plague Sun' had perished, leaving the ground littered with the dead. Novak gazed up at the dark green sun he had conjured. It emanated no warmth—only a suffocating presence filled with deadly pathogens, each one infused with the relentless black plague that multiplied under its light.
Even Zogwort, shielded by a full antiviral projection mask, found himself transfixed.
"What sort of forbidden spell or dark magic could rival the sheer destructive power of this 'Plague Sun'?!" he thought, astonished.
Novak now fully understood what it meant to wield the power of the "Scourge of Life." The 'Plague Sun' alone eclipsed the skills of any other class, and as his control over viruses and fungal pathogens grew, his presence would indeed become a living plague.
The Virus King's talent, paired with the Scourge of Life, was a synergy far beyond a simple sum. Once he could spread infection through mere rays of light, no one—absolutely no one—would be safe!
