[JustIan]: "Holy! The White God has appeared!"
[Ruby]: "@White Emperor, could you share some insights from your first job transfer? Any words for the group?"
[Vince]: "@White Emperor, was your job transfer as intense as the rumors say? People are going crazy on the forums!"
[Whiplash of the Skies]: "Clear the way! I need to get close and worship! Also, hahaha, I know some details about Brother White Emperor's job transfer, but I can't reveal them… well, maybe a hint!"
[I'm really not a sword fairy]: "What are you even saying?"
Novak scanned through the chat, especially amused by Whiplash of the Skies's cryptic messages. Did he actually know the details of his job transfer?
[White Emperor]: "@Whiplash of the Skies, ???"
[Whiplash of the Skies]: "Ah! White Emperor actually noticed me! When the God of Trading gave me the Thunderwalker job transfer scroll, he mentioned you. Seems he has some investment going with you too! So, is it true, Brother White?"
Novak raised an eyebrow. So Zogwort had an investment mission with Whiplash of the Skies as well? It seemed Whiplash of the Skies's luck was just as good in this life. Since Novak had previously shared some details about Zogwort with the group, it wasn't surprising that a dual job transfer would pique some interest.
[White Emperor]: "Well, I suppose I've been pretty lucky."
[Whiplash of the Skies]: "Damn! That's White Emperor for you! Completing the job transfer first is beyond amazing. My admiration for you is as endless as the Yellow River!"
[Crow]: "What riddles are you all speaking in?"
[Heaven Wings]: "Riddlers, begone!"
[Whiplash of the Skies]: "I know, I know. But it's just so shocking, I can't reveal it all. I'll just say… no wonder Zogwort saw something in you…"
[JustIan]: "Okay, enough sidetracking! Brother White Emperor, are you serious about taking me to level up?"
Novak chuckled. Leave it to Ian to stay focused.
[White Emperor]: "I'm planning to revisit Red Star Mental Hospital. There's a hidden mission I want to complete there. Anyone else in Capital City? I can bring along whoever's nearby."
[Crow]: "Brother White, why not connect us with Meimei? We'd love to witness your strength firsthand, especially in that dungeon—I was part of that raid last time, after all!"
[White Emperor]: "Not this time. I'll need Meimei's help back in Demon City, so better to save her strength. If you're not in Capital City, don't worry about it."
[JustIan]: "Looks like it'll just be Brother White and me unraveling the ultimate mystery of Red Star Mental Hospital."
[Crow]: "Aww, don't leave us out!"
Novak had already decided to keep Meimei out of this particular trip, especially since Yuzuru was coming along. He preferred there to be no connection between Meimei and Yuzuru. However, just as he thought the plans were settled, a new message lit up:
[Zezelia]: "Hey, I'm in Capital City too! Can you wait for me, Brother White Emperor, or should I come over now?"
What? Zezelia, a Puppet Master with a bit of a reputation in his previous life, was actually in D-avao? In the past, they'd had little interaction, and even in Chat Group No. 001, Zezelia was more of a silent presence. This was… unexpected.
[JustIan]: "So it's true that Zezelia is actually in Capital City?"
[Zezelia]: "Last time, I missed the chance to go to Red Star Mental Hospital, but this time, I'm not letting it slip by!"
[Ruby]: "Ugh, so jealous! Just imagining meeting Brother White Emperor in person makes me so excited! Brother White Emperor, when are you coming to Majati to pick me up, hmm?"
Ignoring Ruby's usual antics, Novak responded directly.
[White Emperor]: "@Zezelia, just share your location. I'll pick you up."
Before long, Zezelia sent over her location. Without delay, Novak grabbed Yuzuru and left the villa, with Kaguya hiding obediently in the basement.
It wasn't long before Novak encountered this somewhat well-known Puppet Master from his previous life. Zezelia appeared to be an ordinary-looking girl, which was unsurprising; in their world, talent and strength didn't necessarily correlate with appearance. Interestingly, her meeting place was a shop selling funeral supplies—paper effigies, burial clothes, wreaths, and such. It was clear that her surroundings resonated with her unique abilities.
"Thank you, Mr. White Emperor, for personally coming to pick me up!" she greeted him politely.
"No trouble. Just happened to be passing by. Didn't expect you'd be in D-avao. Let's go find Ian. Also, just call me Novak."
Ian had already been eagerly preparing in the group, clearly thrilled. He was just shy away from level 10, needing less than 10,000 experience points to cross that threshold. Reaching level 10 meant he could activate the Hell Messenger job transfer in his possession—a change that, in the words of [I'm really not a sword fairy], would open up "a new world, a new level" with an array of abilities, essentially transforming him into someone entirely different. Understandably, Ian was more than a little excited.
When Novak arrived at the complex, Ian was already waiting at the gate, clearly unbothered by the lingering threats of lower-level stragglers.
"Brother White, you really do treat me best!" Ian beamed, rushing over eagerly as soon as he saw Novak.
Novak shot him an exasperated look but, thinking of the upcoming challenges, still took a moment to remind him.
"Make sure to keep an eye on your taskbar during the run. If there's any update, let me know right away."
"No problem!" Ian replied with confidence.
With that assurance, Novak gathered his team—Ian, Zezelia, and Yuzuru, who was concealed within the Ring of the Hell King—and they headed to the entrance of Red Star Mental Hospital once more.
