The man also donned a dark suit. Though not particularly tall—around five feet seven—his physique was robust. He held a pair of sunglasses in his hand and entered the room with a perpetually stern expression, as if on the verge of an explosive outburst. Upon seeing him, Gonzalo's face lit up with surprise. He immediately stood and addressed the man with deference:
“Uncle Tong, what brings you here?”
Uncle Tong wore a grim countenance and remained silent, while the young woman hurried to Rolf’s side. She inspected him with evident concern before anxiously inquiring, “Baby, are you alright? They didn’t do anything to you, did they?”
Rolf, whose tears had just dried, found them flowing once more at her words. “I thought I’d never see you again…” They embraced tightly in a heartfelt reunion. This scene filled me with revulsion; Rolf's deceitful nature was now masked by a façade of sentimentality aimed at ensnaring the girl.
