Selena listened with a disdainful smile.

Turning to the driver, she said, “Burgess has claimed he is not involved. The blame lies with you. How about this: I let Burgess go, and you take the fall for this matter?”

Upon hearing this, the small driver burst into tears, pointing at Burgess as he exclaimed, “Burgess, don’t betray me! Those cards are sitting in the shed behind your house...”

Burgess, who had been so brazen just moments ago, was now visibly deflated.

Selena regarded him with her signature poise and softly inquired, “Burgess, do you need to pay a visit?”

Burgess remained mute.

“Burgess, you are an experienced player. You understand the house rules; the evidence is right before us. Now, let us discuss how to resolve this matter.”
