Chapter 160: Chinjao Defeated

Chapter 160: Chinjao Defeated

The sword flashed.

Blood gushed out.

"Brothers! Go and take all their treasures!"

Charlotte sheathed his sword and stood tall, pointing toward the Babao Navy's fleet as he spoke.

The crew erupted in cheers.

"Let's go! Take everything!"

Carter took the lead, instantly transforming into a half-zebra man. Wolfe also activated his powers, transforming into a half-elephant man, and together they charged toward the Babao Navy.

The two cadres targeted the Babao Navy officers who were still conscious and began fighting.

Chinjao, however, lay unconscious on the deck of his ship, severely wounded by Charlotte's sword.

"Leader!"

"Leader!"

The cries of his subordinates echoed, but no matter how loudly they called, Chinjao remained motionless.

A three-meter-long sword wound stretched from the top of Chinjao's once-proud cone head down to his abdomen. The scar was deep, and Charlotte estimated it would remain with him for the rest of his life.

Despite the severity of the injury, Charlotte had deliberately spared Chinjao's life.

He was curious to see if Chinjao would succumb to despair like in the original story, or rise again stronger than ever. Charlotte looked forward to the outcome.

---

Charlotte leaned casually against the ship's bow, watching his crew gleefully plunder the Babao Navy's treasures.

The smiles on their faces never wavered.

Chinjao had brought an entire fleet of eight pirate ships. Considering their reputation and reach, the treasures they'd amassed must be vast. Now, all of it belonged to Charlotte.

"Captain! We found this in Chinjao's cabin!"

Carter, having dealt with the Babao Navy's cadres, walked out of the captain's quarters holding a few items.

Charlotte glanced at one of the items Carter handed over—it was a book titled The Secret of the Eight Punch Fist.

Charlotte flipped through it briefly, recognizing it as a manual for a martial art cultivation technique.

He tossed it back to Carter. "Pass it around. Anyone interested can practice it. It's decent."

Though Charlotte didn't underestimate the technique, it was something he already understood thoroughly. He could learn such methods at a glance and adapt them as needed.

"Yes, Captain!" Carter replied, tucking the book away.

Next, Carter presented a rolled-up map.

"Captain, this was also found on Chinjao's ship. It looks like a treasure map!"

Charlotte's interest was piqued. Taking the map, he examined it closely. The map didn't depict any New World seas but instead showed a route in the Flower Kingdom leading to an iceberg.

It was immediately clear that this marked the Babao Navy's treasure hoard.

Charlotte smirked and tucked the map away. "We'll head to the West Blue later to dig it up."

"Alright! Have the crew load all the treasures onto the ship. We'll depart once that's done," Charlotte instructed as he turned to leave.

"Yes, Captain!" Carter responded, bowing slightly in respect.

Back in the cabin, Jenny immediately approached Charlotte, concern etched across her face.

"Master, what happened to Esdeath? Why did she faint?"

Charlotte stroked Jenny's hair gently and reassured her, "Esdeath awakened her Conqueror's Haki. But since she's so young, she couldn't control it, and it drained her energy. She just needs some rest."

Despite his words, Jenny, who was pregnant, didn't seem fully reassured. She stood by Esdeath's bedside, her brows furrowed in worry.

Seeing this, Charlotte stayed by Jenny's side to comfort her as they watched over their daughter.

---

The ship continued its journey toward Punk Hazard, stopping at islands along the way to restock supplies.

Somehow, word of Charlotte's victory over Chinjao spread like wildfire.

"Shock! The Pirate Supernova Chinjao Defeated by Bloody Swordsman Rockefeller Charlotte!"

The headline dominated newspapers, accompanied by vivid illustrations.

The news caused a stir across the seas. Chinjao, who had evaded capture by Admiral Sengoku, had been soundly defeated by Charlotte. The scale of the loss shocked many.

An entire fleet plundered, all treasures stolen, and Chinjao himself left with a gruesome sword wound running from his cone head to his abdomen—these details made even seasoned pirates shudder.

---

On a remote, uninhabited island, Chinjao sat wrapped in bandages, staring grimly at a newspaper in his hand.

He had been unconscious for five days and had only recently awoken, brought here by his surviving crew.

Chinjao could hardly believe he was still alive. The memory of Charlotte's sword slash remained vividly etched in his mind.

At that moment, as the blade descended, Chinjao had genuinely thought he was going to die.

"Leader!"

One of the Babao Navy cadres approached hesitantly, his voice trembling.

He had been the one to hand Chinjao the newspaper, but seeing the leader's reaction now, he deeply regretted it.

"Hahahahaha! I lost! I actually lost!"

To the cadre's shock, Chinjao suddenly burst into tears, clutching the newspaper tightly.

The rest of the crew watched in confusion, fearing their leader had gone mad.

"Could Charlotte's sword have driven him insane?" some of them wondered silently.

But Chinjao's tears abruptly stopped.

"No! I lost, but Chinjao didn't lose! My Iron Head Technique didn't lose!"

Chinjao stood up, touching the cone of his head. Though the once-pristine shape was now marred with sword marks, his spirit remained unbroken.

"Set sail! I'll take back everything we've lost! I, Chinjao, will never be defeated so easily. If there's no treasure, we'll steal more. If there's no ship, we'll seize one. I'll make my name, Chinjao, known across the world! Charlotte, wait for me—I'll grow stronger and challenge you again!"

Chinjao tore off his bandages, revealing his scarred cone head and the long sword wound running down his body. His men cheered, energized by his determination.

"Follow the leader!"

"Long live the leader!"

The Babao Navy crew shouted in unison. Though they had suffered heavy losses, they still had their leader, and his resolve reignited their spirits.

---

As Chinjao boarded a ship, he noticed tiny cracks along its hull.

He froze, realizing these cracks were caused by Charlotte's domineering aura alone.

Clenching his fists, Chinjao growled, "Charlotte, just wait. I won't let this go!"

With a determined wave, Chinjao commanded his fleet to set sail once more, disappearing into the horizon.
