Chapter 218: End of the Naval Battle

Chapter 218: End of the Naval Battle

"Lawless! Absolutely lawless! Does she even take me, her father, seriously?"

After confirming that Esdeath had sneaked out, Charlotte couldn't contain his anger and smashed the cup in his hand onto the ground.

"Young Master! You must go and save Esdeath! She's still so young—how could she possibly survive on the battlefield?!"

Jenny, who had been by Charlotte's side the entire time, instantly panicked upon hearing that Esdeath had secretly joined Barrett's fleet.

"Don't worry! With Barrett there, Esdeath will be safe. Even if I went now, it wouldn't change anything! We can only wait for the outcome."

Charlotte patted Jenny's shoulder, pulling her into his arms to comfort her.

"After Esdeath comes back, she must be grounded! And don't defend her this time—it's all because of you!"

Charlotte glared at Jenny.

Jenny lowered her head, sobbing silently.

Seeing this, Charlotte sighed helplessly, his anger fading as he gently stroked her back to soothe her.

On the Battlefield

Barrett hung up the call, his face dark and unreadable.

Around him, the battlefield was littered with broken bodies and bloodied remains.

The Rockefeller Pirates had regrouped, standing together in victory.

There was not a single enemy soldier left standing.

"The young lady is already in battle! We must support her immediately!"

Carter, who had always been by Charlotte's side, stepped forward and spoke.

"Yes! We must reinforce her now! If anything happens to her, we will all be held accountable!"

The surrounding pirates agreed in unison.

Barrett nodded.

"Gather all ships! We set sail to support the young lady!"

He ordered firmly, and the fleet moved at once.

Esdeath vs. the General

Esdeath stood on the battlefield, her chest heaving as she locked eyes with the general in front of her.

"Child, you've done well!"

"Your swordsmanship at such a young age is incredible. If you were older, I might not be able to defeat you. As expected of the daughter of the world's greatest swordsman!"

The general looked at Esdeath, who barely reached his chest, admiration in his gaze.

"Asshole! I am who I am! What does my father have to do with this?!"

Esdeath shouted furiously, raising her rapier and lunging at the general with lightning speed.

Slash!

A thin cut appeared on the general's arm, a few drops of blood dripping onto the battlefield.

The general remained silent, barely glancing at his wound before looking at the bigger picture.

The situation had turned dire.

While fighting Esdeath, he had noticed that the main battle had ended—the Rockefeller Pirates' fleet had already surrounded them.

The battlefield was filled with corpses, and the few remaining soldiers were still desperately fighting, but it was obvious—the battle was lost.

Meanwhile, the cowardly nobles, seeing the pirates board their ship, had hidden in the cabin, too afraid to fight.

Clang!

The general dropped his sword.

"I surrender."

There was no hope left. Even if he killed Esdeath, he would die regardless.

Surrendering was the only option.

"Asshole! You coward!"

"Is this how you treat your sword?! Pick up your weapon and keep fighting! Defend your honor as a general!"

Esdeath roared in fury, unable to accept his surrender.

"I see no point in continuing. Your allies have already arrived."

The general sighed, his face filled with defeat.

Esdeath turned sharply, glancing behind her—

The Rockefeller fleet had completely encircled them.

"Damn it!"

Esdeath cursed under her breath.

There was nothing left to fight for.

"Everyone, lay down your weapons! No more resistance!"

The general commanded his remaining troops.

One by one, the soldiers hesitated—but after looking around, they dropped their weapons.

Are you kidding?! Who would sacrifice their life for a king who isn't even here?

They were just soldiers, fighting for paychecks—not for glory.

Seeing the enemy surrender, the pirates who had followed Esdeath sighed in relief.

Victory & Aftermath

Bump!

The Rockefeller pirate ships docked beside the enemy vessels.

Esdeath, covered in blood, stood proudly at the bow as she watched the others approach.

"Miss!"

The pirates shouted joyfully, their faces filled with relief.

They looked at Esdeath—then at the defeated soldiers behind her—

Their expressions turned to disbelief.

"I have secured this ship!"

"Only prisoners remain. What do you want to do with them?"

Esdeath stood tall, trying not to show her exhaustion.

Barrett, Carter, Paul, and Isaac looked at the remaining enemy soldiers.

Usually, surrendered soldiers were simply executed and thrown into the sea to avoid trouble.

But doing so in front of Esdeath was impossible.

"Miss, do you have any suggestions?"

Carter asked respectfully.

"You're asking my opinion?"

Esdeath's lips curled into a smirk.

"Then take them back. They will work for Kami Island. Didn't Uncle Wolfe always say that the labor camp needed more workers? Well, here they are!"

Esdeath pointed to the sixty or seventy prisoners behind her.

"Miss, you are wise!"

The pirates nodded in agreement.

Esdeath's chest swelled with pride as praises surrounded her.

"Miss, the Captain already knows you sneaked away."

"Let us send you back. You are not allowed to participate in the next battle!"

Barrett placed a firm hand on Esdeath's shoulder, stopping her from running away.

"What?! Dad knows?! Who told him?!"

Esdeath's face paled as she glared at Carter, Wolfe, Paul, and Isaac.

All of them immediately turned away, avoiding her gaze.

"No! I can't go back!"

"The battle isn't over! We haven't conquered their kingdom yet—how can I leave now?!"

Esdeath resisted, but it was useless.

With Barrett's grip on her shoulder, she couldn't move an inch.

Even if she used her Devil Fruit abilities, it would be pointless.

"Take her back to the Captain."

Barrett handed Esdeath over to Paul.

"Yes! Leave it to me!"

Paul grinned, taking Esdeath from Barrett and playfully winking at her.

They were all amused by her situation.

"Hmph!"

Esdeath crossed her arms, pouting angrily, refusing to look at Paul.

Paul laughed—he had watched her grow up and even taught her swordsmanship for a while.

"Let's continue the attack!"

"The leader of this alliance is the Rommel Kingdom—we'll start there."
