Chapter 340: CP Organization’s Pursuit

Chapter 340: CP Organization's Pursuit

"Where? Where?"

Robert immediately looked in the direction Deidara pointed.

Sure enough, he saw two black dots in the distance, slowly growing larger.

"They seem to be… fighting!"

Robert squinted, a little unsure. From what he could see, one ship was pursuing the other, launching cannon fire—but none of the shots were hitting, splashing harmlessly into the sea near the target.

"Quick! Go tell Dad! There's a battle ahead in our path!"

Robert grabbed Deidara and ran toward the captain's cabin. He knew their father would most likely be coordinating everything from there.

But by the time Robert arrived, Charlotte had already been informed by the crew—and he knew far more about the situation than his sons.

"Oh? World Government ships attacking a vessel flying the Ohara flag… Can you see who's on board?"

Charlotte asked the lookout.

The lookout adjusted the lens and squinted.

"It seems… a woman! And a man!" he said hesitantly.

"…And she's pregnant."

Charlotte's interest piqued—not because of the woman, but the implication of who she might be.

"They're approaching us fast. Ten minutes until contact!"

The lookout reported.

"Alert the ship. Level One Battle Alert. All units prepare for combat."

Charlotte stood up and headed for the deck.

"Yes, sir!"

The operator slammed the emergency signal.

Wooo! Wooo!

The sharp wail of an alarm echoed across the entire ship.

"Move, move! Battle ahead! All combat personnel, assemble on deck!"

Warriors with weapons stormed out of the lower decks in an orderly formation, eyes serious, hands tight on their weapons.

The officers appeared one by one. Barrett frowned as he spotted the government ships.

"What are World Government ships doing here?"

Meanwhile…

"Olbia! I'm sorry… I don't think I can stay with you anymore…"

A wounded man lay in a pregnant woman's arms, bleeding from a gut shot.

"No! Don't say that! You haven't even seen our child yet! You promised to raise her with me—you can't leave!"

The woman, white-haired and teary-eyed, held his face close, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Listen… what we're researching has been outlawed by the World Government. They'll never let us uncover the truth. Promise me—stay alive for our daughter. Raise her… leave the lost century behind."

He looked at her with gentle, fading eyes.

"No! We promised to uncover the truth together… You can't give up!"

Olbia shook her head violently, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I… I know my body. I can't go on…"

He whispered, eyes dimming.

"No… no… we'll survive, we have to!"

Olbia sobbed, clinging to him.

"If… if I don't make it, protect her… protect our daughter…"

His voice faded. His head slumped in her arms.

"No!!"

Olbia cried out, clutching his lifeless body.

Back on the pursuing ship—

"Sir! The male target appears to be dead!"

A masked CP agent called out, peering through his scope.

"Keep firing. Anyone who dares touch forbidden knowledge must pay with their lives. Don't spare the pregnant one either."

The CP commander said coldly.

"Yes, sir. Eliminate all threats."

Cannons kept blasting at the unmanned Ohara vessel. But as if guided by divine luck, every shot missed.

The waves kicked up by near misses only helped push the ship forward.

Boom!

"Idiots! Why can't you hit a sitting duck?!"

The CP commander grabbed a gunner by the collar, snarling.

"If you weren't government men, I'd swear you were enemy agents!"

"S-Sir! The wind is too strong—we can't aim properly!"

The gunner stammered.

"Damn it all!"

The commander dropped him and returned to glaring at the target ship.

"Sir! Large vessel spotted ahead!"

A lookout shouted suddenly.

"What ship? Tell them to move!"

The CP commander didn't care—no one in West Blue ever posed a threat to him.

"No good! The large ship is coming straight at us!"

The CP agent looked through his spyglass again, voice full of panic.

"What now?! Stop overreacting!"

The commander snatched the scope and looked himself.

He froze.

There it was—looming in the distance, a towering mermaid statue wielding a trident.

Poseidon.

"It's… the Rockefeller Pirates!"

The CP commander's face went pale as he recognized the ship—Charlotte's infamous vessel.

"Why the hell are they here?! Why didn't CP0 report this?!"

He seethed with rage. If he lived, someone was getting executed.

The agents around him were already frozen with fear.

"Sir… should we still continue the pursuit?"

The commander clenched his jaw. The Ohara ship was almost within reach.

"If we fail this mission, we'll be punished anyway. KEEP FIRING!"

He ordered through gritted teeth.

His agents hesitated, then scrambled to obey. They had to destroy that ship before the Rockefeller crew arrived.

On the Ohara ship…

Olbia slowly stood up, eyes cold and furious. She looked at the World Government vessel chasing her.

She ran to the wheel and turned the ship directly toward the approaching Poseidon.

If anyone could save her—it was them.

"Damn it! She's aiming for that ship! FIRE! FIRE!"

The CP commander screamed, realizing her intentions too late.
