Squad 772

"Can you explain the difference between the three of the gangs?" I asked as we got copies of the report.

"It's pretty easy if you want me to simplify it, the Mob is organized and clean when it comes to their gang work they actually help the struggling side of District 5 but I wouldn't call them the saviors of them since they also pay back with extreme prejudice when it comes to your debt. Otherwise, they don't brag about their involvement, they act like a classic mafia if you know what I mean." Officer Weiss seems like he knows them personally.

"What about the Union?" I asked about the second gang.

"Them? They're more like normal people who want a different way of governing themselves. Chaotic and loud as we identify them. Nothing more than troublemakers but they've managed to make a fuss that they started a gang and isolated themselves from District 5 as their territory knowing it's not theirs." Officer Weiss seems annoyed at them.

Damn, I never knew that they have a strong motivation so much that they've illegally made a territory for themselves.

"About the final gang... It's a complicated thing." Said the officer right next to us.

"What about it?" I asked.

Officer Weiss frowned a bit.

"Those Heretics are nothing more than pure criminals. Killing is their hobby and anything under the sun they've already committed sometimes at the same time. I think they're the sickest most numbing kind of criminals we have in District 5. I'm surprised they stuck around here." Officer Weiss from the looks of his frown has faced them before and it didn't look good.

"And everything that I have already discussed but for those who are late is in the report notes everyone goes to dispatch we're moving soon this gang war isn't gonna be an easy one to tackle this year." As the chief finished his briefing.

"You're coming with us Officer Rook!" Said a female CyberDemi pulling his hand with Weiss by her side.

"Let's move out Officer Rook." Officer Weiss

"What's happening?" I asked.

"You didn't know that you're gonna be in our squad for this mission and pretty much your career here." Officer Weiss replied.

"Pleasure to work with you again Officer Weiss!" I nodded and followed them to their squad room.

Officer Weiss opened the door and the female officer followed suit and shouted.

"We have a new member!" The female CyberDemi officer was seemingly excited for my arrival.

"You're too loud, Uni." Said the officer sitting by the table near the whiteboard.

"Oh, you're here Tim." Officer Weiss went to his table at the center.

This place seems pretty neat and small considering we're a squad.

"If you're thinking that this office is small for a squad. Don't underestimate us, newbie." Said Officer Tim disrupting my thoughts.

"Well, I was just expecting more people than all..." I reluctantly replied to his opinion.

"There's nothing wrong about that, to be honest. This is the average amount of officers in a squad believe it or not." Officer Uni replied.

"Really?" I looked confused.

"You forgot already that we're not normal police officers, Officer Rook?" Officer Weiss scoffed at me.

"Sorry if I haven't caught on I'm still pretty new here," I replied with courtesy.

"Everyone here is well trained and has physical enhancements. Each officer is equivalent to 5-10 people with their capability with us here plus you we're pretty much an equal a 40-man squad." Officer Weiss explained it briefly.

"Since we're now complete let's get to our mission for today. It's been a while since a lot of squads have been dispatched, for us. Oh, I almost forgot this is Squad 772. Our objective today is to take out some of the gangs fighting on the outer area of the most affected area to prevent possible escapees." Officer Uni planned out the area where we'd be fighting.

"So we're on cleanup duty this year huh?" Officer Tim seems not impressed by the plan.

"Since we have a newbie in our squad this year we'd get the less important fights since we need to still teach him the ropes before tackling bigger guys out there." Officer Weiss replied to Tim's reaction.

"I thought this guy was an ex-convict under the RTR Program shouldn't he have at least some street fighting skills?" Officer Tim asked me.

"Surprisingly I'm not that fond of fighting but I can fight at least. I was trained after all." I replied straightforwardly to Tim.

"It's still protocol that we have to do this whenever we have a newbie in the squad so let's teach the new guy how we work in 772." Officer Weiss smiled and patted Tim on his shoulder.

Soon thereafter we were deployed around the outer rim of the gang war as we redirected some citizens who were escaping to safety. They were quick and organized in this squad despite how few they were they managed to make it work and I have to make sure I work hard too.

"Rook help me out on this one!" Officer Tim asked for help as he was helping an injured old man.

"Alright! C'mon, you'll make it." I grabbed the other hand and assisted the old man to the nearest medical team.

I helped around the area, assisting the injured making sure the children were safe, and assisting any emergency services that needed aid.

"772, be advised a group of gang members en route to your position." Dispatched radioed our squad.

"Tim, you know the plan." Officer Uni nodded with Officer Tim right beside her and ran in the direction of the gang members.

"Hey, try not to be stupid out there you two!" Officer Weiss shouted at them.

"Aren't we gonna help them?" I asked.

"Right now the people's lives are more important first. Those two can handle it for now." Officer Weiss treated the remaining citizens escaping the affected area.

As we helped around and such. I heard a scream as a kid tripped and fell and was surrounded by some of the gang members. And I immediately ran towards them.

"Rook! Stop!" Officer Weiss tried to stop me.

I hope I can reach the kid in time. But looking at it looks like I can't. How can I close the gap... Wait, don't I have Overclock?

[Overclock ready to deploy]

Alrighty, let's test this in the field I clenched my fist and ran towards the kid as it was about to be attacked by the gang members. It felt like a blink and I was already right next to the kid and grabbed it and took it where it was safer near Weiss.

But... As soon as I finished I felt a great heaviness in my body. I think I'm reaching my limit for this run!

"Woah..." The kid was shocked when he realized he was right next to the officer thinking he was about to be attacked.

"That worked..." I was surprised I managed to make that work while panting and catching my breath.

The gang members weren't too happy about that and ran towards me. So I prepared myself for battle as it was the first time I am actually fighting for real.
