A War Is On The Horizon II

(Third Person POV)

[The Red Keep, King's Landing]

Prince Aemon Targaryen walked inside the room where his Father and brother, Baelon, were. Jaehaerys was sitting down in a chair as Baelon was standing next to him, his hands behind his back.

"What is it?" He asked Baelon, "You called for me, Brother?"

"Aemon." Baelon said, "We just received word.....House Tully has reported that half of their Vassals have begun a conflict among each other."

Aemon looked at his father, "Is this true?"

Jaehaerys sighed, "It is." He said, "Within the coming days, there will be a war in the Riverlands and House Tully will have no choice but to act, raising a Host to end the conflict."

Aemon looked down, "This is his work. I know it."

"Yea, it is pretty obvious." Baelon said

"What do we need to do?" Aemon said, "House Targaryen needs to act, otherwise, we'll lose our standing!"

"You are correct, son." Jaehaerys said, "But if that person is truly involved, we might be at his mercy. There are times were I feel hopeless to even think of the possibilities when it comes to him."

"We have to act, Father." Aemon said, "To show the Realm that we won't allow something like this to happen. It doesn't matter if we are helpless, if any of this continues, the Realm will be plunged into chaos. Thousands will die and even more will suffer!"

"I am well aware of the consequences, Aemon." Jaehaerys said, "But it does not change the fact that he is someone that has power, great power. What he did to us...it was a display of his overwhelming might. The fact that our House still stands is but a miracle and that is what he wants us to know, for it to be ingrained in our minds!"

"Nevertheless, something has to be done." Baelon said, "It is your Realm, you are the King! If he cared so much about it, he would have wiped us out and taken the throne. He does not care about things like that."

"What is it that you would have me do?" Jaehaerys asked

"We go and frighten the Houses to stop their warring." Aemon said, "That way, even if it is momentarily, we have an opportunity to work something out with him. His Ire might have passed, we can still reason with him."

"That might be close to impossible, but worth a try. Even if it is hopeless, we have to do something." Baelon said

"You are not wrong." Jaehaerys said, "We have to stand strong...show that he's not affecting us. He doesn't wipe us out because we are of use to him....but if we show that our spirits are not broken, then perhaps we can dissuade him....if we do what Maegelle did, we can defeat him...not physically but mentally....."

"That is right, Father. I have the utmost respect for our sister...." Aemon said, "She did something nobody was capable of doing....even if Baelon and I suffered for it.."

"Can't believe he did all that because of Maegelle.....that beast...!" Baelon said with a scowl, "All because she spoke back to him!"

"This can be good for us." Jaehaerys said, "Never had I thought that Maegelle would do something like that. Perhaps the gods are indeed on our side this time. She is good, that girl. So long as her Faith remains strong, our House will stand....."

"Right..." Aemon said

Then, a servant walked inside the room, "P-Prince Aemon!" she called with a concerned look on her face, "I have been looking for you!"

"What is it?" Jaehaerys asked with a frown

"P-Prince Aenys, Your Grace...." She said as she bowed slightly, "He has collapsed but an hour ago....it appears he is severely ill...!"

Aemon widened his eyes, "W-what?!"

****************

[Oldstones, Riverlands]

Drakken stood atop a wall in the ruined castle, overlooking the entire place. He had his arms crossed as several men began to move about, setting up a camp.

"Hm..." He said, "What is this place? Once a mighty castle, it seems."

He looked down and noticed that many armed men were walking about, talking to each other. These were men that Mya Rivers had gathered in support of Drakken and his cause, his religion. While Mya had begun to gather more and more followers, a name had not been properly established. Drakken did not care much about naming the place.

Mya currently stayed in The Tower, overseeing matters there as Drakken took a small force of men a bit further up, beginning his assaults on the rest of the Riverlords.

The men were charmed by Mya, their lustful hopes to bed the woman were high. But Mya was loyal to Drakken and only the god of war and death. Their hopes would be obliterated by him should he find out their true intentions. But it did not matter how or why they were recruited, the fact is that Drakken already had them in his clutches.

His Blessing was upon them and whether or not they lived or died, it only fueled Drakken's power.

"Hm...." He said, "Soon.....I will have these worshipping fools at my mercy....."

He then heard the flapping of wings and a raven's call. The mere sound of it sent a chill down Drakken's spine and he immediately turned around to see feathers fluttering down to the ground as a crow flew away.

"Tch...." He said, remembering a certain dragon from his past

He jumped off the wall and landed on the floor, following the path of the raven as it flew away. After a few more minutes, he had been taken to a ruined chamber of the castle, nothing but moonlight illuminated the destroyed room.

He felt the raven's presence nearby as he clearly heard its flapping wings. He noticed the magic signature coming from the bird, recognizing it to be a warg's. He knew very well that this was not Mya Rivers, his woman. She preferred to Warg into serpents and wolves, which he had no issue with.

No, this was another Greenseer.

Drakken scowled, "Of all creatures to warg and use to spy on me....." Drakken said as the flapping got closer, "You chose that horrid creature!!"

He lunged at a single spot where the raven was flying and in a swift motion, he swooped his hand at it, catching it with ease.

The raven shrieked in pain as its body was broken by Drakken's grip.

"Greenseer, I know it is you." Drakken said as he looked at the bird's eye, "Where are you? What is your purpose? Do you truly wish to anger me?"

The raven let out a call, looking right at Drakken as a third eye opened on its forehead, which surprised Drakken.

"Hm?" He said, "What the hell are you supposed to be?"

He then clutched the Raven hard and tapped into its power, using the connection he had gotten from Mya's blood. The raven burst out in flames as Drakken's entire body was covered by his black-flame aura.

In an instant, Drakken was suddenly transported into a black plane where he stood. He felt nothing but an empty cold all around him, feeling the natural affinity of a Greenseer's magic.

"Hm...." He said, "I suppose forcing myself into the psyche of this Greenseer was easier than I thought."

"W-What....?" He heard a voice say

Drakken turned around and saw a strange sight; a shriveled-up old man that was fused to what he recognized to be a Weirwood Tree. A single red eye that glowed was visible through the pure white hair that covered his face.

"And who are you supposed to be?" Drakken raised his eyebrow, "Are you the Greenseer that is spying on me? State your business!"

"This is impossible....you cannot perceive me....you cannot be here....." The Man said as he raised his head slightly

Drakken raised his eyebrow, recognizing the magic in his blood, a mix of Greenseer and Targaryen.

"Ho?" Drakken said, "A Targaryen?"

"Who...." The Man said, "W-What are you?"

Drakken smirked, "You don't know?" I said, "That's interesting. I am tired of telling everyone what I am."

"I think it is time to show you."

[A/N: Reminder that starting tomorrow, This story and "The Beauty, The Bold, And The Black Dread" will be moved to Patreon, and the weekly rotations will resume there.

As for the updates here, they will be rather slow but will happen. A chapter for every 10-15 chapters sounds reasonable.
