"It is necessary, Victoria is just twisting the pack against Jenkins, and whether I like it or not, that war will spread beyond their borders. If I don't stop it now, it will definitely come for us, too." Ava said to calm Lily down.
Lily's lips pressed into a thin line, but she did not argue any longer. Instead, she studied Ava very carefully, as if checking something out in her mind.
"If you go back, they are going to demand some answers, about what you are. About what you can do." She said after a pause.
"I know." Ava swallowed.
"And if they find out the truth?"
The moment of silence was stretched between them.
"Then I will just deal with it." Ava inhaled deeply.
"Ava, listen to me. There are many wolves who would follow you, but there are just as many wolves too who would fear you. And fear? That really turns into hate real fast." Lily stepped closer.
"I'm not going back to be their enemy." Ava met her gaze.
