Chapter 12
Before the test
"Mr. Garion, what is Las doing?" the blonde woman adjusted her silver-rimmed glasses slightly to observe the ten-year-old boy who was meticulously sowing the soil. Around him lay several long bamboo sticks, and there were a few piles of soil that seemed to have dug up from somewhere else due to the distinct colors. Moreover, there was a small shelter with a simple canopy to provide shade, sitting inside were two wooden chairs.
One was stacked with two seemingly old books.
"I'm also curious," Garion replied, looking at Las with curiosity.
After meeting with his teacher the other day, Las had ventured into the forest again in afternoon, then returned with bamboo sticks, and carried piles of soil out in another round, working until sun down. This early morning, he continued working diligently He set up bamboo posts, then covered them with fabric for shade, and began tilling the soil, mixing the soil then putting them inside.
