When we woke up we were all piled up on our beds. I felt something hard in my hand and saw the staff poking out. The soft blue glow filled the room with a gentle light.
The children were struggling to share the one staff which glowed from both ends. Selen's half glowed an orangey red whilst Clay's half glowed turquoise.
I looked down at my body and found I was no longer wearing the clothes I had been gifted. I wore a pale blue shapeless robe, in wonder, I stretched out my arm and it grew with me.
Clever, I thought, now I won't rip my clothes each time I change shape.
Clay and Selen both fought over the staff for them.
"Little loves," I said gently, "I believe she intended this to be shared. Each of you hold onto your end."
They sighed and held on. The lights pulsed with colours.
"Wow!" They both chirped.
