Hoverplane

Onyx and I initially were unsure of how to get the plane to the mass of worms. But then incredibly the Hive Queen rose on legs made of the worms, it came splashing forth from the water causing a wave to wash over the whole room. The water lapped teasingly at our ankles and was surprisingly warm.

Once it was free of the water vat it formed into a much tighter shape. It remained looking humanoid, but only loosely so, and I watched in stunned amazement as the largest worms balled themselves around the feet and it began to walk. These worms were not crushed by the weight. That's when I noticed they were the stronger worms I had been shown.

I felt Onyx shudder beside me and I put a hand on his arm. I squeezed him closer to me.

"It'll be okay," I whispered to him.

"Lead us," The Hive Queen drawled in a raspy wet voice. I imagined all the water it had soaked through itself. I imagined the water sploshing inside.
