Chapter 114: GANTZ Combat Suit

After a few days' delay, the group resumed their journey toward the northern research facility.

Whether it was due to the blizzard or some other factor, there weren't many Rapture units along the way—just a few scattered squads.

Most of them were lower-tier Raptures, but among the higher-tier units, there were some which boasted both strong firepower and defenses, proving far more troublesome than the Raptures near the Ark.

However, under Mo Chen's lead, the team quickly dismantled these squads within minutes, leaving them in ruins.

A Rapture resembling a flying crab, now lay on the ground. Its wings had been torn off, its legs were mangled, and a massive hole gaped open at its central core, sparking violently.

It groaned and twitched, desperately trying to rise.

Mo Chen stepped forward and planted his foot squarely on its head.

Crack!

The massive Rapture collapsed completely.

Its frame crumpled, limbs snapped, and smoke billowed from its circuits as it finally shut down.

Mo Chen lifted his foot and kicked the wreckage.

Boom!

The enormous shell flew through the air like a broken toy, slamming into a rock wall and shattering into pieces.

"Not bad."

Mo Chen flexed his leg, genuinely surprised.

The suit's enhancements were far beyond what he'd anticipated.

Actions that once required effort now came effortlessly, and his destructive power had skyrocketed.

With the combined strength of the GANTZ Suit and the Blacklight Virus, Mo Chen's punches could now destroy even Master-class Raptures—units known for their shields and reinforced defenses—in a single blow.

"Rabbity! Rabbity—!"

A sweet, cheerful voice called out from behind.

Mo Chen turned just in time to catch Alice as she leaped at him.

"This suit is amazing! Is it your legendary weapon, Rabbity?"

Ever since her recovery, she had become even more clingy, sticking to Mo Chen's side whenever she had the chance. In fact, she spent more time with him than with Ludmilla, much to Ludmilla's thinly veiled jealousy.

He wasn't particularly fond of being followed around, but Alice's condition hadn't fully stabilized. If she stayed away from him for too long, her fever would return.

So he simply let her be.

"I told you—stop calling me Rabbity. Call me Commander. Especially when we're around other people, it's Commander."

Mo Chen tried to correct her again.

"Oops, I forgot! Rabb—uh, Commander," Alice giggled, then excitedly grabbed his hand, her pink eyes sparkling. "Is this really a legendary weapon?"

Her excitement was practically overflowing.

"Yes, yes. It's a legendary weapon."

Seeing her expectant expression, Mo Chen couldn't bring himself to disappoint her.

What surprised him, though, was that the GANTZ Suit—originally designed for humans—also worked perfectly on Alice.

Her strength, agility, and jumping ability had all received massive boosts.

Logically, the suit should've required a human body to function.

Mo Chen wasn't sure how it worked—perhaps the suit detected human brain activity?

"Wow—!"

Alice cheered and bounced around like an energetic little rabbit before leaping onto Mo Chen again.

"Thank you, Rabbity!"

"It's Commander."

Mo Chen sighed helplessly, correcting her yet again.

Nikkes already possessed physical capabilities far surpassing humans, but after equipping the GANTZ suit, their strength was further enhanced—like a tiger growing wings.

Alice even abandoned her usual long-range sniping combat style, opting instead to follow Mo Chen closely and engage Raptures in melee combat.

Of course, he reminded her not to rely too heavily on the suit and to continue using her sniper rifle as the primary weapon.

Despite the suit providing significant enhancements, facing Tyrant-class Raptures was another story. Even with strength multiplied tenfold, a Nikke would struggle in direct combat against them.

Except maybe Red Hood.

Ludmilla stood in the distance, lowering her weapon as her gaze lingered thoughtfully on Mo Chen.

He was undoubtedly human. Yet the power he displayed far exceeded that of elite Nikkes. And the combat suit he provided was clearly far beyond the technological capabilities of the Ark.

He was even more mysterious than she had imagined.

After defeating the Raptures, the group began clearing the battlefield.

Mo Chen made his rounds, collecting the earned points.

At that moment, he noticed Snow White wandering across the debris-strewn battlefield, seemingly picking up parts from the wrecked Raptures.

Rifle barrels, magazines, control circuits, hardened armor plating, artillery shells—everything was gathered and packed into the large container on her back.

She then walked up to Mo Chen.

Before he could ask, she pointed to the ground beneath his feet.

"Commander, you're stepping on my part."

"Huh?"

Mo Chen stepped aside, revealing a piece of Rapture armor plating.

Snow White bent down, picked it up, disassembled the components, and attached them to her suit.

Noticing Mo Chen's puzzled expression, Snow White explained,

"There's no way to properly repair equipment on the surface. Unless we find an operational outpost, most surface outposts have long been abandoned. You can't find anything useful there anymore."

"Still, it's a small mercy that Rapture parts can also be used for Nikkes."

As she spoke, she skillfully dismantled the rifle remains she had scavenged, extracting the usable components.

"With just a little modification, Rapture parts can be adapted for Nikkes."

Mo Chen had already noticed this the first time he encountered Snow White.

Her body was incomplete, with many components clearly different in color and texture from standard Nikke parts.

Even her synthetic skin had numerous bullet holes, and in some places, the outer layer had peeled off, showing signs of long-term neglect without proper repairs or maintenance.

As for her weapons, they were in even worse condition.

Even someone like Mo Chen, who didn't claim to be a firearms expert, could tell at a glance that the guns were cobbled together from various mismatched parts.

The rifle in her hands looked like only the magazine might be original—its paint was so worn that the surface had become completely discolored.

"I'm sure you've noticed," Snow White said, picking up another Rapture component and pausing briefly, "that thirty percent of my body is made up of Rapture parts."

"To fight monsters, I had to turn myself into one first…"
