Aron POV
"This year, Mr. Aaron Finge won the Best Businessman of the Year award." When the host of the business conference announced my name as the best businessman, I couldn't believe it.
"Oh my god, Aron. You won the award." Sara looked at me with a pride-filled gaze.
"On stage, are they calling my name?" I questioned her in disbelief.
"Yes, they are inviting you to collect the award." Sara nodded her head to confirm the announcement.
"Mr. Figne, congratulations. I am glad that you won the award." Selena returned from the washroom and looked at me with a broad smile on her face.
"Thank you, Sara." I couldn't control my happiness, so I hugged her tightly to express my gratitude to her. It's all possible because of her. Her presence indeed boosts my confidence, so much so that I deliver the presentation confidently.
I am already fully aware of my company's earnings and investment amount, but until I saw the presentation, I didn't feel comfortable sharing that data. I'm not sure how she arrived so suddenly, but I'm grateful that God heard my prayer and sent her to be my strength.
I started the presentation as soon as I saw Sara standing next to me, but as I was speaking, I sensed my dad's hateful gaze on me, which slightly undermined my confidence. Despite this, I gripped Sara's hand hard to gather the fortitude to face my father's hostility.
Today, I gave the best presentation I have ever given. Although I didn't anticipate receiving this honor, Sara only made it possible. Aron, please go; they are calling you. Sara's voice snapped me out of my reverie. I stood up from my chair and invited Sara to come up to the stage with me.
"Aron, you should go to the stage by yourself since they are calling you." She was hesitant to come with me.
How do I tell her that her presence is the sole reason I can win now?
"Please, Sara, accompany me." I asked her to move out of her chair.
As we made our way onto the stage, she clutched my hand. Everyone in the conference hall was staring at us. As I approached the stage, some people glared at me, while others appeared thrilled about my victory. My dad was among those who glared at me, and others regarded me with hatred.
When he heard the news, he was furious, and his face grew red. He sat on his chair like a statue and glared at me without blinking. I passed near his chair and felt the heat of his anger. I firmly grasped Sara's hand to prevent her from opening her mouth as she glanced at him, bewildered, and prepared to say something. I didn't want her to regret her actions later because she was unaware that he was my father.
I thanked them for bestowing upon me the title of best businessman of the year.
As I was receiving the award, they were clicking a picture.
Sara, feeling uncomfortable, stepped back to avoid being in the frame, but I held her hand to ensure she remained next to me.
People were curiously glancing at us, as I had never shown off a woman before. My sex addiction never tarnished my public image. I've always kept up my tidy appearance around people. But I felt obligated to declare Sara as my lover in front of the public today after witnessing the famished looks of company owners on her.
Even though I didn't tell her how I truly felt, and we have a lot of personal problems, I still can't help but want to show the world this true jewel. I sometimes find myself wondering how she looks so stunning in every outfit. Even though her modest attire was inappropriate for a business meeting, she was able to get the attention of several guys in the conference room.
When my business opponent came to talk to Sara, I felt envious and enraged all at once. She answered other businessmen timidly, not listening to their flirtatious comments. My affection for her just grew when I witnessed her guarded demeanor in front of the business owners. That's like my woman. She truly deserved to be with me. She is a perfect match for me. I wanted to propose to her right now, but I controlled my emotions because I didn't think it was the right time to confess my feelings to her.
Selena was enviously staring at Sara, or, perhaps more accurately, I would say that she considered her a rival. I wanted to enjoy my time with Sara, so when the business conference concluded, I asked Selena to take a taxi home. It's our first time leaving the house together.
I didn't have much opportunity to spend time with her outside the house after we went to see her mother in the hospital. I realized how foolish I was not to include her in every business meeting I attended. I became even more obsessed with her after realizing that she was my lucky charm.
"Aron, I came here with Jerry, so she must be waiting for me." She asked me to allow her to leave the hotel reception.
"Sara, ask her to meet you in the house." I requested that she spend the evening with me.
However, she ignored me and went back to Jerry. Her unyielding actions infuriated me.
Why does she choose Jerry over me every time? Whenever I tried to forget about Jerry, Sara would always bring her into the picture, ruining my mood. I wouldn't feel compelled to spend time with her if she didn't want to.
"I am Aron Finge; no woman can say no to me." To demonstrate to Sara that I have other possibilities, I started flirting with the hotel receptionist. I was expecting her to become upset when she saw me with another woman, but instead of turning to face me, she just strolled over to the poolside area, leaving me by myself at the hotel reception.
