Sara POV
I don't understand why he didn't get bored of flirting with women. For a while, his gentle behavior with me led me to believe that he changed now, but once the conference concluded, he revealed his true nature by flirting with the receptionist.
I've always imagined a family man who, in addition to being respectful to me, wouldn't hesitate to declare his love for me in public. Why did he always dash my hopes? I have no right to meddle in his life, even though I wanted to stop him from flirting with the receptionist.
I don't understand why he always tries to control my life. I came here with Jerry, so I'll have to go back with her. I consider my work essential, just as his work is significant to him. Although I am not as successful in business as he is, each job has a distinct significance.
My eyes filled with tears as I turned my face to look at the hotel reception. Aron was still flirting with her. I lost my attention on my path and ran into a man.
"Are you blind?" I turned to look at the source of the irritating voice.
"I apologize; I didn't mean to run into you." While glancing at his irate expression, I apologized to him.
He is the same man I met at the conference. His expression gave me the impression that he was upset about Aron's victory.
"Why are you acting like a lost puppy, aimlessly roaming the hotel?" When he saw me alone, he looked around and insulted me.
"I am sorry, uncle; I didn't deliberately bump into you." I bowed my head in regret. Since he has a rivalry with Aron, I have nothing to do with this old man. Even though I wanted to ask him why he taunts Aron, Aron requested that I not mess with this man.
"Do you believe that saying sorry will make up for the damage? The wine staining my expensive suit should be your responsibility." He screamed at me, causing the others at the poolside to turn and stare at us.
"I apologize, uncle. I didn't notice you at all." The sound of his severe tone made my body tremble. Because I am currently short on funds, I will have to silently endure his insult; however, if I were in a better financial position, I would gladly give him the blank check to silence him.
Wearing such a plain outfit in such an opulent hotel is embarrassing enough, and now everyone is staring at me, which is making me feel much worse. I considered calling Jerry for assistance, but the elderly man's intense stare on my face made me feel as though my body was frozen.
"Do you hear me, lady? You will have to pay for the damage you caused." Anger caused his eyes to bulge.
"I don't have money, uncle." I wet my throat by gulping down some saliva.
"I'm not your uncle. Don't try to call me uncle in an attempt to build a relationship. If you are unable to pay the damages incurred by my lawsuit, please provide my guest's drinks as compensation for your error." He grinned menacingly as he turned to face me.
"If you allow me some time, I can make arrangements to get money to repair the damage to your outfit." I decided it would be best to enlist Jerry's assistance because I didn't want to tolerate his insults.
"Are you sure you have the funds to cover my suit's expenses?" He raised his brow at me.
"How much does it cost?" I looked at him in confusion.
"Ten million dollars."
"What?" When I heard him, I opened my eyes wide.
I can't ask Jerry for this much. However, if I don't comply with this man's request, he can report me to the police for damaging his suit. He comes from an affluent background; therefore, he will undoubtedly have sway over influential individuals.
"As an apology for damaging your suit, sir, I will be serving beverages to your guests." In retaliation for the damage to his claim, I agreed to his request.
"Ahh. That's good." When I agreed to serve drinks to guests, his face showed satisfaction.
To spare her from having to wait for me, I called Jerry to let her know that I would be running late going home. I wanted to tell her about this incident, but his piercing gaze fixed on me, so I disconnected the call right away.
The majority of the guests at his party were business people whom I had already met at the conference. The greedy eyes following me around made me feel uneasy. Their concentrated gaze on my body gave me the impression that they were raping me.
Why am I unable to look straight ahead and walk correctly? It all happened because of Aaron. If he had not flirted with that receptionist, I would not have continued to turn around and stare at him. He must be enjoying his time with the hotel receptionist, and I am here serving drinks to this ruthless old man's guest.
Serving drinks to those hungry wolves already made my heart pound, and the thought of Aron with another woman only deepened my sadness. Some of the businessmen were quite elegant and attractive, and after I served them drinks, they greeted me with a charming grin and asked me to become friends.
However, I couldn't find any attractive men in that group. Seeing their seductive eyes disgusts me. I shook my head to clear my mind, focused on serving the visitors' beverages, and then left this hotel once my work was complete.
"Miss, would you like to bathe with us?" As I approached the poolside, a man attempted to flirt with me.
"No." I shook my head. I felt enraged as I listened to him. I wanted to slap him right away, but then I sensed the old man's heated eyes on me, so I quietly walked away after serving them drinks.
"Hey, stop. Why didn't you reply to me?" That young man approached me and put a stop to my movement. I attempted to move away from him in a quiet manner, but he persisted in blocking my path.
"Come on, stop throwing tantrums, and join me for a bath." He grabbed my hand and forced me into the pool.
"Please leave my hand." I tried to free my hand from his grip.
"Don't worry, I am familiar with the type of witches who would gladly sleep with any man to obtain money. If you tell me how much Aron Finge gave you for sleeping with him, I'll give you twice that amount." His words sounded to me like molten metal.
I served drinks at this party because I mistakenly ruined that old man's suit, but that doesn't mean that anyone can harm my self-respect.
"That's enough." I gave him a firm cheek slap. People glanced at us in disbelief as my slapping sound reverberated throughout the area.
"You witch, you have to pay the consequences for disrespecting me. How dare you smack me?" He dragged me into the pool in an attempt to kiss me, then leaped behind me.
"I can't swim." Thus, I have trouble breathing in the water. When they watched me drowning in the water, they all chuckled.
"Tell me how much you'll charge for a single night if you wish to leave the pool." That young man approached me and whispered into my ear.
