Aron POV
I attempted to flirt with the hotel receptionist, but as soon as Sara was out of sight, I felt sick at her seductive smile. Even without my asking, she seemed eager to spend the night with me. Why does Sara dislike spending time with me when I want to spend all my time with her, while this woman is constantly willing to spend time with me?
I have not even been enraged with her for a long time. I excused the receptionist and turned to head in the direction Sara had been walking a short while ago. I had no idea where she had vanished from the hotel reception's right turn. I dialed Jerry's number to ask about Sara, but she told me that Sara didn't come to her.
I don't understand why this woman disappeared suddenly. This hotel, a highly esteemed establishment in the city, fills me with fear for her safety. The business owner's fixation on her further heightened my fear that one of them might abduct her.
If she fell in love with any of the CEOs, what would I do? Because she has read so many romance novels, she already has high expectations for CEOs. What steps will I take if she meets her ideal match among the billionaires in this hotel?
When I tried to call her to find out where she was, her phone was unreachable. I looked for her in the hotel building for an hour, but I couldn't find her, so I called Jerry again to ask about Sara. Jerry informed me that Sara has some urgent work, so she will come home later.
Hearing Jerry's words made my throat dry. Where could she go, leaving Jerry alone? She refused to spend the evening with me, making excuses that she would go to Jerry. Now that she's not with Jerry, I'm filled with worry and doubt about her.
I was taking an elevator from the sixth floor to the ground. At that moment, my eyes fell on the poolside. There is a clear glass door in the elevator that allows me to look outside.
What's going on there? I noticed a group of business owners sipping beverages by the poolside. When I saw Sara was giving them drinks, my mouth dropped open.
Why had she given them drinks? She was pouring drinks for others, so I hurried over to the poolside. The sight of her working as a waiter, with people staring at her with lustful eyes, made my blood boil.
When I arrived at the poolside, she slapped a man. I was taken aback by her angry demeanor; however, the man pushed her into the pool before I could react, as she refused to kiss him. I dove into the pool to save her as soon as I noticed she was having breathing difficulties. After retrieving her from the pool, I lunged forward once more to confront the man.
How dare he touch my woman? Unaware of the full situation, I delivered a furious punch to him. As I brutally thrashed him inside the pool, people stared at me in shock.
"You have no right to touch her."
"Aron, how dare you beat my assistant?" If my dad doesn't interrupt us, I'll kill him. My hand froze in the air upon seeing my dad.
I stepped out of the water and stared at Sara's face.
Her eyes were full of tears as she gazed at me. Seeing that her wet dress adhered to her body, exposing her curves to the public, I quickly covered her body with my coat.
"What were you doing here?" I turned to stare at her angrily. I couldn't control my rage at the moment, as I noticed the hungry eyes scanning her body through her soaked dress.
"Aron." She sobbed uncontrollably on seeing me.
"Let's go from here; we will talk about it later." To get her out of the hotel, I held her hand.
"Inspector, I believe this man attempted to murder my assistant. Please arrest him." My dad and the police arrived at the poolside just as I was ready to leave.
"Your father, Mr. Finge filed a complaint alleging that you tried to kill his assistant to get revenge on him." The police inspector asked me to go with him. I looked at my dad in shock, as I never thought he could do such an evil thing to vent his frustration on me.
"Dad?" When Sara finally saw my dad, she gasped in shock.
"Sara, you must go home in my car. I have to go to the police station." I am already furious with her for not listening to me, but after seeing her weeping face, I don't want to yell at her anymore.
"Wait. Inspector, Aron, did nothing wrong. Aron is trying to protect me from that scoundrel. This old man asked me to serve drinks at his party when I accidentally bumped into him. The young man then made an offer for me to sleep with him, and when I declined, he pushed me into the pool. I will suffocate to death if Aron does not come to my rescue." After wiping away her tears, Sara recounted to the police inspector what had happened with confidence.
After hearing her story, I was in complete shock. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine my father would go to such lengths to exact revenge on me. He humiliated me by using Sara. How could he possibly detest me that much?
"Is this woman telling the truth?" The police inspector inquired about other people.
"Inspector, you can look at the CCTV footage if you don't think I'm telling the truth." I looked at Sara with surprise.
Even though she was still trembling with dread, she handled the situation with full confidence. If Sara didn't tell the inspector everything, I'd probably have to accompany him to the police station.
After reviewing the CCTV tape, the police inspector warned my dad not to file any false complaints against anyone in the future. My dad's face turned red due to the anger and insults he faced.
"Aron, that award belongs to me. Soon I will take it back from you." He vented his frustration at me for not winning the award.
"Sir, rather than ensnaring people with baseless accusations, it would be preferable for you to work hard to win the award the following year if you believe it is yours." Sara turned to my dad before I could respond. I would never have thought to speak to my father that way. He felt even more frustrated upon hearing Sara's words, and in fury, he loosened his tie knot.
"Just to clarify, sir: accepting responsibility for one's actions and being willing to deal with the fallout from them does not indicate weakness; rather, it indicates strength of character. The next time someone accidentally bumps into you, don't try to trick them like you tricked me today." Sara looked at the people present and walked out confidently from the hotel.
She behaved like a phoenix today, in my opinion. Her actions remind me of a saying about a phoenix that emerges from the ashes despite people trying to burn her to ashes. Although I'm glad she handled the situation so bravely, I'm still upset with her for leaving the house without my consent.
Because of her deeds and grace, I'm sure many business owners grew interested in her, which made me want to own her even more. As I left the hotel, I noticed that others were gawking at her in amazement. I'm at a loss as to how to shield her from the prying eyes of this world and alleviate the fear of losing her.
