Lunch with me

Sara POV

"Neil, please let me go; Aorn must be waiting for me." I attempted to release my hand from his hold by looking around.

I'm already anxious to see Neil in this restaurant. What will I do if Aorn finds out about Neil? He appeared genuinely excited about our lunch date, so I didn't want to keep him waiting too long. I understand that this is his first date ever and that he's trying to impress me by going above and beyond to make this special for me, but even though I don't want to, I must meet Neil because I made a promise to him when I was intoxicated.

I was planning to take an early leave from the studio to meet Neil, but before I could ask Jerry to leave, Aron came to the studio and asked me to join him for lunch. When I saw him in the studio, I was thrilled and shocked at the same time. I hesitated to join Aron for lunch, but when Jerry asked me to join him, I sat in his car silently.

When I told the studio employees that Aron Finge had come to pick me up for lunch, they all gave me a startled expression. When I realized the attractive man had come here specifically for me, I felt a surge of pride. I've always wanted him to respect me, so I'm glad he doesn't feel self-conscious about declaring his love for me in public.

My phone continued getting messages from Neil. I did my best not to show Aron how scared I was, but when he saw me glancing at my phone screen, he gave me a doubtful look. As soon as I noticed his suspicious gaze on my phone, I quickly hid it from his line of sight.

My anxiety increased even more when he pulled out the car's brake in front of the same restaurant where Neil asked me to meet him. Aron had set up a lovely glass room for our lunch date, but I was nervous since my phone was ringing, so I excused myself and went to the table by the pool, where Neil was waiting.

"I came here to take you with me, Sara. Let's marry Sara." His words burst my mental bubble.

I immediately removed my hand from his. His eyes, filled with hope, remained focused on my face. I don't want to break his heart, but now I can't leave Aron, so I have to tell him the truth.

"Sorry, Neil, I can't marry you now." Since I don't know how he will react after hearing me, I fidget with my fingers.

"Why Sara? Do you not love me?" His eyes show me the pieces of his broken heart.

"Please don't misunderstand; although I still respect and care for you, Neil, I no longer feel love for you." I realize that to keep him from bothering me more, I must tell him the truth.

"What? How could you say this to me? Sara, I am aware that you have always harbored feelings of affection for me and have always desired to marry me. Therefore, I implore you to refrain from perpetrating any pranks on me. What is the reason for your recent change of heart regarding the prospect of starting a family with me? I made a significant sacrifice by leaving my career and family for you."

Upon hearing that I declined his proposal, he appeared extremely disappointed.

"Please try to understand, Neil, that since I am already married, we can not get married." I flashed my wedding ring in front of his eyes.

"Sara, this marriage has no meaning for me because you don't love that bastard." Grabbing my hand, he attempted to remove my wedding ring.

"What are you doing, Neil?" I scowled at him as I rose from my chair.

"I will stop at nothing to get you back in my life, Sara."

I saw a demon in his eyes. I don't understand why he doesn't understand my point, especially considering that I've already expressed my disinterest in him. Since Neil didn't appear to get it, I chose to walk away from him and in the direction of the glass chamber.

"So that jerk got you into his trap, Sara? If Aaron Finge shows signs of falling in love with you, don't mistake it; lust is his only motivation. When he throws you out of his life, you will soon realize your mistake."

I disregarded his advice and kept moving in the direction of the glass room. Aron wasn't at the table when I got there. I waited ten minutes for him to join me for lunch, but he was nowhere in sight. I called him numerous times, but he never answered.

Why had he abruptly left me alone at the restaurant? Did he see me with Neil? No, I don't think so. If he saw me talking to Neil, he would not leave me by myself. Perhaps he had an emergency, which is why he left me by myself. I grabbed my purse and was about to leave the restaurant when his friend Laura came with waiters to serve our lunch.

After looking at the expensive yet wonderful lunch, I looked at my purse's inside. When Aron has to leave the restaurant, why does he order so much food? Since I don't have enough money to cover the lunch bills at this hotel, at least he has to pay them.

"Where is Aron?" She scanned her surroundings for him.

"He will eventually come to join me." I was unable to be honest with her.

I have to pay the bills for this lunch because if I don't, they will insult me for ordering such a large quantity. I tried calling him again, but he didn't answer. I dialed Jerry's number, but her phone was also switched off.

I sank back in my chair with a heavy sigh. My hunger vanished upon seeing the pricey cuisine before me. I decided to seek Laura's assistance in settling this bill, intending to pay her later. However, before I could reach Laura, Neil approached my table and requested permission to join me.

"It appears that your wealthy husband has abandoned you, leaving you without any money at this upscale restaurant." I wanted to stop him from sitting with me, but he insisted that the food looked so delicious and that he was already extremely hungry.

He started eating without asking permission.

"Neil, could you please cover this meal's bill?" Since I didn't want to repeat the previous experience, I wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible.

I cast a hopeful glance at him.

"Yes, absolutely, but only if you sit with me and accompany me to lunch."

"Sorry, Neil, I can't sit with you; I have to go now." I rose from my seat and started walking away.

"Come on, Sara, don't be so rude to me. I apologize for my harsh words, but I can't bear the rejection from you. At least be my friend, because I don't want to lose a person like you from my life." Hearing his request, my steps halted, and I joined him for lunch because I didn't want him to feel bad for his heartbreak.
