Sara POV

"Sara, please stay with us for a few days." My stepmother asked me to stay with her in this house. Before I answered her, I looked at Neil.

He nodded at me to accept her request.

I decided to stay with them for a few days to get to know them better before making any decisions, as I was unsure of how to handle such a situation. My stepsister and stepmother aren't as horrible as my neighbors and my dad told me. They're very sweet to me. They not only behaved kindly toward me, but they also treated Neil with respect.

When I agreed to stay with them, my stepsister Ella showed me my room. I toured my vast villa in the evening. The building's captivating architecture astounded me. This is one of the town's older structures. Several builders are keen on transforming this structure into an opulent hotel.

"Will you be selling this building, Sara?" As he was walking with me to take a tour of the building, Neil questioned me.

"Of course not. Why will I sell this villa when it is the blessing of my ancestors?" I shrugged my shoulders.

"I am glad that you decided not to sell this villa." He hugged me happily.

His unexpected hug took me by surprise. What was so exciting that I told him, for which he hugged me?

"Neil, let's go." I tried to free myself from his grasp.

"Why, Sara, don't you love me anymore?" He looked at me with complaint-filled eyes.

"What do you mean?" I looked at him in confusion.

We were strolling in the evening garden, and it was getting close to nightfall. Because most of the servants' shifts had ended and they were off duty, there weren't many people there.

"Sara, are you not understanding what I'm trying to say?" He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him.

"You are aware that I did not experience a romantic connection with you; therefore, why are you reiterating the same inquiry?" I don't expect him to force me in this way.

"Sara, you're aware of my love for you." He tried to kiss me while holding me around my waist.

"Behave yourself. I only love Aron; I don't have any romantic feelings for you." I shoved him out of my way.

"I can't believe you, Sara. How could you be so mad in his love when he didn't even remember your name? Do you want to know how he will enjoy his life in your absence?" He showed me pictures on his phone.

"Where did you get these pictures?" I looked at photos on his phone and questioned him.

"I never expected Aron to stoop so low. How could he forget about me after only a few months, even though he claimed to love me?" I re-examined those pictures, and the sight of Jerry and Aron's romantic moments brought tears to my eyes.

"Do you still think this man deserves your love?" He questioned me angrily.

"I don't care what he did with his life, but I still love him." I tried to hide my anguish from Neil by wiping away my tears.

"Do you still love him, even after I told you how far he went to win you over?" I halted my steps upon hearing him speak.

"What else can I learn about him?" I looked at him in confusion.

"Do you realize that he abducted me to marry you, Sara? Not only did he abduct me, but he also threatened me with the help of the mafia, using your body as a means to quench his thirst."

"What?" Although I didn't believe him at first, I started to lose faith in Aron after he showed me the footage of him threatening Neil with a gun.

How could his lust drive him to do this to me?

"Sara, please accept my love. I battled him only to win your affection. My heart ached to see you in pain. You're worthy of happiness. Don't you remember that you've always wanted to create a happy family with me? So why are you preventing your happiness now that God has allowed us to live our dreams?" He grabbed my hand and ran a thumb over it.

"But Neil, I can't marry you now." I pulled my hand away from his grip.

"I won't change my feelings over time, Sara, so take your time." I avoided glancing at him as I entered the villa.

I couldn't stop thinking about the pictures I saw on his phone. I went to my room once I finished my dinner. Should I move on in my life? I looked at the moon shining in the sky and questioned myself. I have a chance to start my life again with Neil.

However, my heart still won't let go of Aaron. I opened my bag to find my dad's letter again.

Regrettably, I left my letter at Ema's aunt's house. My dad wanted me to gather the property paperwork before anyone else could access it. I now have to look for those papers on my own because he didn't tell me where he concealed them on my own.

But how am I going to locate the papers in this huge villa? Should I look up the property documents on my own, or should I contact my stepmother about them? Right now, I have a lot of questions running through my head. Neil gave me time till tomorrow to answer his proposal. I'm not sure how to respond to him.

To fulfill my father's last wish, I must take ownership of this property, but I also don't want to offend my stepmother and stepsisters by requesting to see the villa's property documents. To help me relax, I closed my eyes and listened to some calming music. I closed my eyes and lay down on my bed to calm myself.

A random podcast with a gentle male voice played on my phone. It's lovely poetry that evokes romantic emotions. Every word of the poem touched my heart deeply. I searched for the podcaster's name, but unfortunately, like myself, they are a secret podcaster. However, I like his poetry so much that I put it on repeat before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
