Chapter 269: Snatching and Being Snatched—Offense and Defense Reversed

Chapter 269: Snatching and Being Snatched—Offense and Defense Reversed

In just one year, he had managed to capture such powerful Pokémon.

Even leaving Latias aside, this Greninja alone was ridiculously strong...

Despite the obvious gap between Elite and Master ranks, it could exchange dozens of blows with Bisharp – and it was only slightly at a disadvantage.

"Drop your spatial bag and get lost."

From a short distance away came Hikaru's dismissive voice.

Shawn Quinn could only recall his unconscious Stoutland into its Poké Ball. Hearing Hikaru's tone dripping with contempt made the veins on his forehead bulge.

Letting a new student rob him of his spatial bag…

If word got out, a senior in his fourth year would never live it down on campus.

"Fine. Take all the Changchun Fruit. I'll leave!"

Hikaru let out a derisive laugh. "If we're to see each other again someday, senior, you might as well leave your spatial bag here. Your junior thanks you in advance."

"Latias, Psychic!"

Although some moves might have been restricted, Psychic-type techniques had no such limitations in this secret realm.

"Dammit…"

Shawn Quinn hadn't expected a new student to go this far without an ounce of mercy. But with Latias's psychic power pressing in on him, he had no choice but to fight back.

"Bisharp, use Double Team and accelerate! Then get in close for an X-Scissor!"

He intended to use Double Team to confuse Latias, then close the distance. Otherwise, with Latias's overwhelming psychic might, he stood no chance.

But his plan was wishful thinking.

Hikaru, blessed with the Verdant Power and Aura, could perceive the life force of any real body. The illusions created by Double Team didn't possess life energy. If it were a perfected Substitute, he might not have seen through it right away. But Double Team illusions were easy for him to differentiate.

He smirked. "Double Team? Greninja—Water Pulse!"

"Kukkaa!"

Greninja made several shadow clones of its own, each clone forming a Water Pulse in its hands. All of them simultaneously aimed at the one true Bisharp.

Noticing negotiations had failed, Sakura sprang into action too.

"Kecleon—sniping mode! Vikavolt—use Electric Terrain!"

They no longer bothered playing nice. Kecleon, at some unknown moment, had already climbed up the red-flowered tree. It raised its hand, launching a stream of water at Golduck. Meanwhile, Vikavolt swooped down, discharging a massive spread of electricity across the ground.

The plan was clear: eliminate all the clones.

Zzzt, zzzt—

Electric arcs raced along the forest floor, dissolving clone after clone belonging to both Greninja and Bisharp. Only two real bodies remained.

A raging torrent of water soared forward. Shawn Quinn didn't have time to issue orders to Bisharp, who was busy grappling with Greninja's Water Pulse.

"Golduck!"

Protecting its Trainer, Golduck gathered ice-cold energy in its fist and swung forward, using an Ice Punch to meet Kecleon's Water Gun.

In a normal, agreed-upon battle, it might have been one-on-one. But in the wilds of this secret realm, no such fairness existed.

While Greninja's spiraling Water Pulse locked Bisharp in a stalemate and Golduck was forced to deal with Kecleon's ranged assault—

Hikaru calmly gave orders through his Aura:

"Latias—Psychic to restrain Bisharp. Gardevoir—Teleport. Slowking—Disable!"

Taking down the trainer often proved more effective than battling every Pokémon to the bitter end.

In a flash, Gardevoir and Slowking vanished from beside Hikaru, reappearing behind Shawn Quinn.

Startled, Shawn Quinn frantically reached for another Poké Ball. Golduck, having just shattered one Water Gun attack, tried to rush to his defense—only to realize its body wasn't responding.

A quick sideways glance showed Slowking gazing at it with glittering eyes. It was clearly using Disable or a similar move.

At Master-tier, Golduck could break the psychic hold with just one strike—but a single moment's delay was enough.

In that instant, Gardevoir teleported Shawn Quinn beside Hikaru.

"Rooaaar!"

With a burst of red light, the Poké Ball Quinn had tossed unleashed a giant gray-white beast covered in stone-like armor.

It was Aggron!

When it saw its trainer seized by the enemy, Aggron let out an earth-shaking roar.

[Pokémon: Aggron]

[Ability: Heavy Metal]

[Gender: Male]

[Talent: Elite]

[Level: 51]

[Moves: Headbutt, Harden, Iron Defense, Roar, Take Down, Iron Head…]

Yet realistically, in this protected secret realm, it could barely do anything. If a Rock/Steel-type like Aggron unleashed powerful attacks, the school would hold them accountable for damage to the environment.

Moreover, with its trainer captured, there was little it could do.

Hikaru calmly regarded Quinn, pinned in place by Psychic energy. The senior's other Pokémon glared at him in alarm.

"Right, your trainer's in my hands. Don't move."

Without further fuss, Gardevoir unfastened Quinn's spacious backpack.

Sakura signaled her Pokémon to regroup. With a playful smirk, she stuck out her tongue at the senior. "Sorry, senior."

Hikaru, on the other hand, rummaged through the newly acquired spatial bag, unable to hide the grin spreading across his face. It was dozens of times larger than the standard issue the school gave to freshmen.

Originally, those 70-year-old Changchun Fruits had made him hesitate. While 70-year-old fruits were rated A-rank, what he truly wanted were S-rank ones over a hundred years old.

But thanks to this senior's wonderful gift, well… he'd just take it all.

"Fine, take it." Shawn Quinn's voice trembled with anger.

He felt a crushing blow to his pride. Back when he was a freshman, seniors had robbed him. Now a senior, he was still getting robbed—by a freshman, no less.

Hikaru, in a cheery tone, said, "Thank you, senior~"

Then he had Gardevoir release Quinn from Psychic binding. The senior stared back at Hikaru, eyes full of mixed emotions.

Once, he'd been robbed in his first year. Four years later, he was robbed again… by a junior.
