Chapter 319: Latios Calls
The call was from Emma Damnson.
As for why Hikaru summoned Latias, it was because the video call wasn't just with Emma—
there was another person on the screen, a man who looked to be in his early twenties.
He had flowing blue hair that cascaded down to his shoulders, a slender frame, and stunning features—
a perfectly sculpted nose, sharp eyes, and an elegant jawline…
Too bad he was a guy.
Even without activating his [Insight], Hikaru could instantly recognize him—
Latios.
Once the call connected, Hikaru greeted first.
"Hello?"
Latios visibly flinched upon seeing him, then quickly lowered his gaze.
He spoke in a fluent and respectful tone,
"Human Trainer… thank you for saving my sister and me last time."
Compared to his younger sister Latias's playful nature,
Latios was clearly more reserved and mature.
Hikaru wasn't surprised he could speak human language.
He casually waved a hand,
"No need to thank me. I only helped a little."
Still...
Why are both Latias and Latios so ridiculously good-looking in human form?
Latios didn't insist, but he hesitated.
Seeing that look, Hikaru instantly understood.
"Latias is right here," he said, turning slightly and gently revealing Latias by his side.
Latias peeked out from behind Hikaru's shoulder, holding onto him nervously.
"Big brother…" she whispered in Pokémon tongue.
She looked genuinely nervous—like a kid who snuck out of the house without permission and just got caught.
Hikaru had to hold back a laugh.
Wasn't this exactly like a kid who ran away from home and didn't tell anyone?
Latios's expression immediately turned serious.
He responded in Pokémon language,
"Humph! Where have you been?! Why didn't you tell me?!"
Hikaru couldn't understand without Aura,
but after spending so long with Latias, he had a rough sense of what they were saying.
Latias: "I'm doing great with Hikaru. He's a good person…"
Hikaru: "???"
Did I… just get friendzoned by a Pokémon?
Feeling that things might escalate, Hikaru activated his Aura.
Latios: "You want to stay with this human? As his Pokémon?"
Latias: "Yes! I want to be his Pokémon!"
Latios: "Then what about your strength?!"
Tension rose between the siblings.
Latias tightened her grip on Hikaru's arm, stubbornly staring back at her brother through the screen.
Hikaru felt a weird pang of guilt.
Did I just… steal someone's little sister?
Latios looked genuinely frustrated.
When did his usually obedient little sister become so headstrong?
Was she going through… a rebellious phase?
Latias: "I'm getting stronger really fast! I'm definitely stronger than you now!"
Latios raised an eyebrow.
"Are you sure?"
He was two years older than her.
By human standards, he was always classified as Champion-level,
while she had only ever reached Elite-peak.
When transferring energy to the Soul Dew, Latios had always contributed more.
And when it came to recovery speed—
more power meant faster healing.
But Latias didn't flinch.
"Of course I'm sure!"
She wasn't dumb. She knew her limits.
But with Hikaru feeding her premium Psychic-type energy cubes nonstop,
she had leveled up once every ten days.
If this pace continued—
She'd return to full power in under four months.
Her previous recovery?
Three years.
Staying with Hikaru?
Way more efficient.
Latios: "You—!"
The two of them couldn't sense each other's true strength through the screen,
but Hikaru didn't need that.
His [Insight] had already revealed everything:

Level 49.
When Hikaru first met them, Latios was 34, and Latias was 32.
Now, Latias was 55.
A few days of top-tier energy cubes later, her growth had left Latios in the dust.
With this direct comparison, it was obvious—
Latias had grown stronger, faster—by staying with Hikaru.
Seeing Latios frowning again, Hikaru's eyes sparkled with an idea.
Emma might have thought this conversation was in some encrypted language—
But to Hikaru, it was crystal clear.
Despite Latios's respectful tone toward him,
he clearly had no love for humans.
He didn't want Latias staying with one.
Unacceptable.
Unless Latias said she wanted to leave, Hikaru would never let her go.
So he gently pulled Latias closer.
She blinked, then nestled against his side.
Hikaru looked straight at Latios,
"Don't worry. I'll make sure she's treated better than anyone else could."
And it was true.
Even Tyrunt hadn't been fed as many resources as Latias.
Not just energy cubes—
But also red-tier traits like [Stealth] and [Silence], tailored for her.
"You said something about restoring strength, right?" Hikaru continued.
"Latios, aren't you with Emma right now?"
He turned toward Emma Damnson, who had been quietly observing the whole exchange.
Though she didn't understand Pokémon language,
the expressions and tension between the siblings made things obvious.
Latios didn't want his sister with Hikaru.
Or with any human, for that matter.
And that—
Was a problem for her.
