Chapter 440: The Island
Xue Nai could tell that Gardevoir wasn't very fond of her. Although she was a little worried, she also knew that the best way to help was to not cause trouble.
This also made her realize that she needed to find a way to become stronger. At the very least, she couldn't drag him down anymore.
As she was thinking, two shadows flew in from the horizon. It was Latias and Charizard.
When she saw Hikaru, a great weight was lifted from Xue Nai's heart. Gardevoir's expression also visibly relaxed. They had both been very worried about Hikaru.
But as Latias flew closer, they were both stunned. Lying on Latias's back was a red-haired woman, her hands and feet bound by psychic power.
Gardevoir was all too familiar with this woman. Athena...
"This..."
Xue Nai was a bit dazed, unsure of what Hikaru meant by bringing her here.
"I was just wondering how to negotiate with Team Rocket. Isn't this a case of getting a pillow just when you're feeling sleepy?" Hikaru explained cheerfully.
How difficult would it be to find the plates all by myself? For something like this, it's better to ask a worldwide organization like Team Rocket for help.
"..."
Seeing the somewhat quiet Xue Nai, Hikaru suggested, "Senior, how about we find an island on this sea for the next few days?"
"Hm?"
Hikaru explained, "A lot seems to have happened recently. I need to make a batch of Pokéblocks, and then..." he touched his forehead, "I also need to give the Pokémon time to grow."
When it came to natural battlefields, the sea was undoubtedly the best. On land, there were only a few places where Pokémon could battle without restraint: Gyms, training grounds, and secret realms. But without exception, these places all have their own shortcomings.
Firstly, they all cost money... although not much. Secondly, they have field restrictions, meaning you can't damage the area, which makes the battles between Pokémon feel constrained.
So, it's better to find a small island and create our own training ground.
"Okay, I'll listen to you."
Xue Nai nodded. Her Pokémon, without any special advantages, needed training even more than Hikaru's.
However, before that, Hikaru picked up his phone, found Landa, and sent a message, "Athena has a grudge against me. She and her Pokémon are in my hands now..." He then immediately turned off his phone.
He unleashed his Aura and began to search the vast sea. In just a few minutes, a relatively large island appeared before Hikaru's eyes.
After sensing that most of the Pokémon on it were of an elite level, the two of them landed.
Regardless of the waves he might be causing in the outside world, right now, Hikaru just wanted to spend some quiet time on the ocean.
The island was quite large, several hundred nautical miles from the coast. It had an authentic tropical rainforest style, with beaches, green shade, and coconut trees. It was very quiet, with only the sparse sounds of some Krabby that had never been out to sea.
The Krabby on the beach, upon seeing the two land, aggressively raised their large pincers and headed towards them. But after seeing the look in Charizard's eyes, they shivered and immediately scurried back into the sea.
Krabby: "No joke, it scared me off with a single glance."
Watching this scene, Hikaru laughed, "Everyone, come on out!"
With a flash of red light, all of his Pokémon appeared on the beach.
He had been busy ever since Feng City and hadn't had a chance to feed his Pokémon yet. Seeing this, Xue Nai also released her Pokémon.
Hikaru, on the other hand, set up a dining table, placed the food for the other Pokémon, and delivered it to each of them.
After getting everything done, he looked at the constantly rising happiness value and nodded.
The happiness value corresponded to entry coins. By now, Hikaru had accumulated 50,000! He could buy Xerneas's Life Dew whenever he wanted.
However, when it came to raising Pokémon, Hikaru focused more on specialized training. Not every Pokémon had the same opportunities and base stats as Charizard.
Some Pokémon clearly required targeted training to maximize their potential. For example, giving Greninja or Gabite a lot of HP-boosting Pokéblocks wouldn't actually provide a significant boost.
On the contrary, using Pokéblocks that boosted both Attack stats, or training its Speed, would have an immediate effect.
For Tyranitar, it was both Defenses.
Lucario had excellent comprehension, but recently, Hikaru had it focusing on improving its Aura abilities, especially Aura Sphere!
As for Bulbasaur, its focus on HP was quite something. It inherited the base stats of a Venusaur but without Venusaur's bulky body. Its agility was not low, and its stamina received an excellent boost.
As for Dragonair, the latest addition to the team, it was currently at level 38. Although it rarely battled, everyone seemed to really like it. It was considered the "pretty face" of Hikaru's team.
"Wooo?"
Lugia was puzzled; it could clearly sense they were still in the ocean.
"We'll be staying in your territory for a while."
Hikaru said with a smile, taking out a Pokéblock suitable for any Pokémon and placing it in front of Lugia.
"Wooooo?" (What?)
Lugia didn't react at first, but once it smelled the fragrant Pokéblock, its eyes were filled with nothing but the block, shining brightly. Its initial idea of traveling the human world with Hikaru was completely forgotten.
It wasn't its fault; the Pokéblock was just too fragrant. For Pokémon, besides the effects of the Pokéblocks, what Hikaru researched the most was the flavor.
Firstly, to "harvest" happiness value.
Secondly...
If the food didn't taste good, no matter how effective it was, the Pokémon would reject it. This was a simple principle, but many people didn't understand it... especially some trainers.
"Ninetales, you're getting more and more beautiful..."
Stroking the Alolan Ninetales's soft fur, Hikaru's eyes were full of admiration.
Speaking of Ninetales. In the past, Hikaru had also thought about catching an Alolan Vulpix. It wasn't because he had a thing for fluffy Pokémon. He didn't have any on his team. But his senior had many. Absol, Delphox, Alolan Ninetales... It was really because Alolan Ninetales was a natural counter to Dragon-type Pokémon.
"Ying ying ying~"
Ninetales responded appropriately. Its trainer, however, knelt down beside Hikaru at that moment, looking at it with him and sighing with emotion, "Thinking about it now, it was really wronged during the time it was with me."
Hikaru was taken aback, then he remembered that his senior had told him that for a period, her Vulpix hated training, and she really didn't know what to do back then..
