Sevrins demonic power ran through the castle with anger but did as he was told. The next day they all traveled to meet the Fox halfway.
He came quickly, passing Severin without a bow, and grabbed Parthenia's hand. "Hi, there lovely lady."
She blushed "Hi, Kegan."
"Wow, you looked edible." He grinned. "I can't wait till you can carry for me."
Severin grabbed Kegans ear and dragged him away from Parthenia. "Do not touch what is mine." He growled.
Kegan was tall and built solid. True to Fox demons he had two fox ears that were soft and red. He had red fur around his chest plate which was a part of his body, his real fur. He also had a tail that stuck out; it was red and black. Kegan lacked modesty when it came to his upper body. He wore his chest plate and fur only, leaving his toned abs and arms showing. Severin called their kind weak because they could not pull off pure humanoid forms.
"I don't see any claim on her, just your brat in her belly." Kegan snipped while crossing his arms.
"Kegan," Parthenia warned, it was her brat too.
"While my seed grows in her, she belongs to me. See that you remember that Fox."
"I don't belong to anyone." She said under her breath, Severin turned to glare at her.
Men.
"K, come on Parthenia." Kegan reached for her, and she took his hand. Severin's inner beast rattled within him at the sight. He wondered if it was normal. He would have to speak to his father about it later.
"Halt, Fox." Kegan stopped at the sound of Severin's voice.
Meldon kissed Oni and rubbed her belly as Severin walked up to Parthenia and placed his hand on her stomach. Kegan dropped Parthenia's hand. Severin closed his eyes and fed the baby with a burst of his power. To Severin's pleasure, the baby moved against his hand. He knew who his father was.
Parthenia stopped breathing.
Sadness filled her heart, and she knew she would never stop loving him. Not even time could erase it, this feeling. He let her go, and Kegan pulled her away. She turned back to look at him. He stood unwavering, his eyes on her. Fear rushed her, but she turned away from him. Time may not erase her love for him, but perhaps she could learn to love another if another would love her enough to have her.
Parthenia looked at Kegan's hand. It wouldn't be him; he had a mate to be too. They would never leave their lovers, and she would never ask them to. She loved Kegan as a friend, plus she had no desire to share a bed with more than one person.
Zane, the Lord of the North, would arrive soon. Lord Yasa had little time to prepare but at least the girls were now at a safe distance.
Severin entered his father's study and sat down.
"Yes?" Lord Yasa spoke, looking over the paper.
"My beast is most unsettled, is this normal?"
His father looked up at him. Admitting something like this meant something was wrong, "You are not feeling well?"
"Correct."
"When did it start?"
"I do not know."
"Then what brought on the question?"
"When the Fox touched her, my beast slammed against me."
His father stood up fully. "It is becoming possessive of her?"
"Is it normal?" Severin asked, not liking that he even had to ask.
Lord Yasa sighed. "Yes, no. It differs from male to male."
"Explain."
"I am sure her power is not helping matters, this is the reason I chose her for your brother."
Lord Yasa paced the room but paused to look at his son, "Do you love her?"
"Surely you jest, father?"
"Do you care for her?"
"I would not kill her if that is what you're asking."
"Would you protect her?"
"During her pregnancy, that is why she is here under us is it not?"
He turned from his son and looked out a window, "Your beast should calm then if your feelings have not changed on her."
Severin stood. "I have no intention of keeping her as you and Meldon have done."
"And the baby?"
Severin went to the door. "That is up to Kasonna, but I have no fear the Maiden may leave with the child. I have no need for another half-blood in my life."
Severin opened the door and left.
Lord Yasa sighed, he hoped his son knew his mate to be well enough to state that because he had no such faith in the matter.
A few days later The Dark Lord known as Zane arrived, and Lord Yasa did not like how Kasonna's face held approval of his being.
Lord Zane was a shapeshifter Demon though he often took a snake form. He had red eyes, pale shink, and shark-like teeth. Many mistook him for a vampire. His hair was short but in his face and black.
The meeting started right away.
"I am here to seek an agreement."
"You are in no position for that, snake" Severin stated sharply.
Zane laughed showing off his sharp teeth. "My army, though low, will regenerate. It is only a matter of time before we start another war with you, and trust me, My Lord, it will be nothing but equal power, over and over. Tell me, do you love pointless war?"
Yes, no.
"I would think you would be ready to mate Lord Severin." Zane teased.
Severin's eyes turned dark. What the fuck did that have to do with anything?
"That is why I am here; you have something I want."
"What is that?" Meldon asked gripping his sword.
"Apologies, not something, but someone." The snake smirked,
"Oh?" Lord Yasa didn't like this one bit.
"Yes, you have a Maiden in your possession, I should like to have her." Zane looked around. "I do not sense her, is she not here?"
Meldon started to growl. "What Maiden would that be snake?"
Zane put his eyes on Severin "His."
