She walked out of the coffee shop alone.
Nicole paused at the door for a few seconds before she turned toward the boy as if she had only just seen him, a look of joy spreading across her face as she walked over.
Effortlessly folding the slip of paper in her hand, the investigator approached the boy with a rather gentle smile:
"Little guy, could you help me send a letter?"
Caught off guard by Nicole, and then hearing that business had come his way, the newsboy dressed as a boy nodded immediately, even though the commission for such work wouldn't be high:
"No problem at all, miss."
"But, may I ask where you want the letter sent and if there are any specific instructions?"
Nicole shook her head lightly and replied:
"There's nothing too troublesome. You just need to help me send out the letter on time."
