The author shows a high level of english literary mastery. This read like a published novel that passed through editors as if it was to be published. This does not read like the typical lazy webnovel and should not be mentioned in te company thereoff. The style may not be to everyone's taste and the references and allusions may pull the readers out of immersion but the writting amd story telling is still excellent.
so a Chinese version of the Librarian, which is a show about a super smart guy who spends many years in college. MC is cataloging clay pots Ina sumerian ruin when a cave in happens. (think Indiana jones). He transmigrate to a western body, and he has to deal with magical artifacts like books, which grants magic powers the problem is books contaminate the nearby people into monsters called seeds, and when 100 or more monsters are created the area becomes the magic items territory, and entering the area controlled you are under the mercy of said magical item like magic book, he spent decades in college learning everything he eill need that knowledge.
This novel tries, and fails to be "sophisticated". The author attempts to copy Western novels but doesn't understand that readers can just go read that elsewhere. There is no attempt at even mixing Eastern and Western styles of writing (e.g. Lord of the Mysteries), just straight up Western. If I enjoyed reading purely Western style novels so much, I wouldn't be on this platform seeking something different.
