Daniel LaRusso's Visit

Cobra Kai Mixed Martial Arts School

"Ya!"

A hundred students stood in perfect alignment, following the motion of a straight punch. Their bodies moved in sync with their Sensei, Johnny, each wearing a serious expression as they took the training routine with utmost dedication.

For the Cobra Kai students, martial arts were more than just a discipline—it was a lifestyle. It represented a pathway to reach new heights and prepare for the challenges of the real world, which was anything but easy.

"Ya!"

Pow!

The punches they threw into the air resonated throughout the vast training space, their movements harmonizing with the rhythm of the session.

"Double front strike!"

"Ya!"

Pow! Pow!

"Low stance, elimination strike!"

Pow!

Johnny demonstrated a downward punch aimed toward the ground, and all his students followed his lead.

Johnny took pride in how his students adhered strictly to the training regimen. Each and every one of them had shown incredible potential, making his class the most disciplined of all.

As a karate Sensei, Johnny focused on simulating combat scenarios, warmups, and teaching new techniques to the students. Master Jean handled more advanced combat techniques, imparting a deeper understanding of martial arts. Meanwhile, other instructors covered various disciplines that students could take to enhance their skills.

Terry Silver, on the other hand, served as Johnny's assistant. His role was to support students who were falling behind in their training.

"Front kick!"

"Ya!"

Pow!

At that moment, Daniel arrived at the new Cobra Kai school, marveling at the exterior's beauty. The facility was of top-notch quality, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings.

As he stepped inside, he noticed students chatting about various topics. Some wore karate uniforms or mixed martial arts gear, while others were dressed casually.

"May I help you, sir?"

An assistant at the entrance approached Daniel respectfully.

Daniel, initially mistaking him for an instructor, quickly realized otherwise. "I'm just checking out the place..."

"Are you planning to enroll one of your children in this martial arts school? If so, you've come to the best place in the Valley. Would you like to see the results our students achieve here?"

The assistant, who often attended to visiting parents, pulled out a tablet loaded with all the information one might need.

Realizing he was being mistaken for someone else, Daniel shook his head with a polite smile. "Actually, I'm looking for Sensei Lawrence."

"Sensei Lawrence? Oh! Now that I look at you more closely, you're Mr. LaRusso. I see. Please follow me," the assistant said, guiding Daniel to where Johnny was.

On their way, Daniel observed more students and asked, "Are the younger ones not in class yet?"

"Oh no, the veteran students usually train on their own or assist newer students to help cover their tuition fees for the month. Advanced classes are only held on weekends, so they aren't required to attend formal sessions during the week. Most prefer to train on the new machines that just arrived from China."

At Cobra Kai, veteran students—those with three to five years of training, many from Jean's old school—enjoyed heavily discounted memberships. With just one hundred dollars, they could train for an entire year and even earn money through competitions.

While the school itself wasn't overly profitable, Terry emphasized the brand's value, especially in official matches. The veteran students were the sharpest weapons of this branch, representing the dojo in critical tournaments.

Martial arts schools worldwide eagerly awaited the chance to face Cobra Kai fighters, especially after Zara posted on social media about Max training there. Cobra Kai had become the rivals to beat in major competitions.

During the most important tournaments, the entire Cobra Kai community united to form a formidable team. Fighters transitioning to the professional level secured sponsorships, and if they demonstrated talent, significant investments were made in their careers.

"We're here," the assistant said, pointing at a door. Daniel nodded, removed his shoes, and stepped onto the mat-covered floor inside.

"Double front strike!" Johnny commanded sharply.

"Ya!"

Pow! Pow!

Daniel witnessed firsthand the absolute coordination among the dojo's students. The sight of over a hundred synchronized students was impressive. However, his awe shifted to intrigue when he spotted a man among the crowd correcting postures.

It was Terry. Among the students, he noticed Daniel LaRusso and immediately stepped forward, shouting, "Break!"

"Ya!"

With the authority shared by both Terry and Johnny, the entire class immediately responded and shifted into a relaxed stance without hesitation.

Johnny, realizing someone had entered, sighed and said, "Took you long enough to visit. I was planning to see you this afternoon about some matters we need to discuss as adults."

Daniel, knowing he was in the presence of yet another antagonist in his life, nervously stepped forward and said, "No matter how much time passes, I'm still surprised at how low you can sink. What are you doing here?"

"Do I owe you an explanation?" Terry asked coldly, staring intently at Daniel, whose demeanor had quickly shifted.
