A/N: Chapter 100: ARC 2 Begins Q/A - Critiques

Once again, thank you to everyone who has stuck around this far through the learning curves and bumpy road!

Larger chapter today or tomorrow to kick it off for many reasons.

This will be broken up into 3 sections: Direction, Story, Critique

Direction:

This prison movement is an official time skip to the future just like between Arcane season 1 episodes 3 and 4. Why? I'll get into that in the critique section.

What does this mean?

Romance will now be available and the future has changed.

Story:

As we know, characters will be different when you change the fundamental building blocks such as Vi not going to prison for years and Powder not being raised by Silco and manipulated.

Something I realized too late, for better or worse in the middle of an FF with my level of experience.

What does the story more closely resemble then?

Oddly enough, thinking about it, the alternate universe with changes.

It kind of made me wonder: the moment you put a new character in there and start making changes, does the whole universe instantly become an alternate universe?

The council is still there, mel and ambessa.

Caitlyn would be closer to being a sheriff since she started earlier due to the Corina incident and Orion spurring her growth.

Vander would still be running the bar

Jinx will probably be talking with Ekko since Orion hasn't been there.

And Vi, well, her violent tendencies I don't think need to be changed. Miss boxer.

BUT

Silco would still be around producing Shimmer and Hextech disaster is still on the horizon

Orion has also been infected by something from the Void. He can adapt it or not.

Critiques:

Obviously, rocky road.

On a base level:

Chapters up until 20: HUGE learning curve.

From there until the explosion sending him to Ionia: I personally liked it.

It was the best-written part so far (in my opinion) even if it did borrow heavily from the show. But the borrowing is probably what made it the best part.

Ionia: Could've been better, I just couldn't find the motivation. Disappointed with myself looking back, but I don't hate the decision.

Returning to Piltover:

Honest self-critique: It's been okay at best.

It didn't capture the magic from the first chapters up until Ionia because it wasn't using source material as much anymore as a base.

I learned a lot during this phase about creating side characters, too many side characters, and evolving the character.

Also more focus on fleshing out personalities. This especially means Jinx and Vi now that things have changed.

Orion's strength, while it has increased, I increased the strength of the enemy strength too. Instead of thugs, he was fighting Syntixi and Camille.

The problem with that though is it can end up being the same vibe as fighting thugs because he still ends up physically in the same distress.

Also, I learned not to suddenly add too much drama or make the MC too distressed lol. That's not what everyone came for (well, maybe some).

People came originally for the cast of Arcane.

That being said: that's also my reason to just use a prison time-skip to bring us back to a more Arcane-grounded FF and using Arcane's method of moving time.

I think at this point, while I still enjoy writing this, I'm also going to use this FF to grow for the next League of Legends show. That way, I can take all my mistakes and create a better fanfiction.

If it is in Noxus, most likely the MC for that would be some SI gladiator-type stuff. idk, depends on what they do.

Or keep Orion going into that show, if the timeline allows it.

Summary:

Larger chapter either today or tomorrow to hit off this new arc, hopefully better with mistakes learned. The focus will be brought back to Arcane.
