Happily ever after

The day had arrived. The day that Milo and Victor had been dreaming about for so long. After everything they had been through—overcoming doubts, insecurities, and fears—they were finally here, standing at the edge of forever. Today, they would pledge their love to each other in front of their friends, families, and everyone who had been part of their journey.

The wedding was held in a beautiful garden by the lake, where the golden sun beamed down on the assembled guests. The flowers were in full bloom, adding a fragrant touch to the air. Milo and Victor had chosen this place for its tranquility and beauty, a perfect reflection of their relationship. The gentle rustle of the leaves and the soft chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere, the perfect backdrop for a day that would be etched into their hearts forever.

Milo stood in front of the mirror, looking at himself in his wedding suit. It was tailored perfectly, fitting his frame in all the right ways, but what caught his attention most were the words that echoed in his mind. I'm marrying Victor. I'm marrying the love of my life.

His heart raced in anticipation as he adjusted his tie, taking a moment to steady himself. He thought back to everything that had led them here—the first time they met, their ups and downs, the moments of doubt and the moments of undeniable love. It had all brought them to this point, and he couldn't have imagined a better ending. He was about to marry his best friend, the person he had shared so many experiences with, the one he loved more than anything else in the world.

The sound of footsteps interrupted his thoughts, and he turned to see Victor standing in the doorway, a smile playing on his lips. Victor was dressed in his wedding attire as well, looking more handsome than ever. His hair was styled neatly, his expression filled with pride and excitement.

"You look perfect," Milo whispered, his voice trembling slightly.

Victor walked over to him, his eyes warm as he cupped Milo's face with both hands. "You're the one who looks perfect," he said softly. "You've always been perfect to me."

Milo smiled, a tear threatening to escape his eye. How was it that after everything, he still couldn't believe this was real? That he had found someone like Victor to spend the rest of his life with? He took Victor's hand, squeezing it gently.

"I can't wait," Milo murmured. "I'm so happy to be doing this with you."

Victor leaned in, kissing him softly on the forehead. "I can't wait either. This is our day. Our moment. And it's going to be perfect."

The ceremony was about to begin. Guests began to take their seats, the soft murmur of voices filling the air as they made their way to the outdoor chapel, set in the heart of the garden. Milo's heart thudded in his chest as he made his way toward the aisle, walking with his father, who had tears in his eyes. The sight of his father's proud smile made Milo's chest tighten with emotion.

As they reached the altar, Milo looked up at Victor, his breath catching in his throat. Victor's eyes were fixed on him, full of love and adoration. The world around them seemed to vanish, leaving only the two of them, standing together at the beginning of the rest of their lives.

The officiant began, his voice steady and clear, but Milo and Victor could hardly hear the words. All they could hear was the beating of their own hearts, echoing in time with one another. As the vows were exchanged, their hands tightened around each other's, the love between them palpable in every touch, every glance.

When it was time to say the words that would bind them together forever, Milo's voice was soft, yet full of emotion. "I promise to love you, Victor, no matter what comes our way. To stand by you, to support you, to be your partner in all things. You are my heart, my soul, and my everything. And I vow to make every day we spend together the best it can be."

Victor's words came from the depths of his heart, each one weighted with the promise of a lifetime. "Milo, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the one I was meant to be with. You've changed my life in ways I can't even put into words. I promise to love you unconditionally, to cherish you, and to always be there for you, no matter the circumstances. You are my world, and I will spend the rest of my life showing you how much you mean to me."

As the officiant pronounced them husband and husband, Milo's heart soared. It was as if time itself stood still, and nothing mattered except the man standing before him. The man he had chosen to share his life with. They turned to face their loved ones, their eyes full of joy and love, and then, in front of everyone, they sealed their vows with a kiss.

The applause that followed was deafening, the sound of love and support from their family and friends filling the air. As they pulled away from the kiss, their faces lit up with the most genuine smiles.

Victor cupped Milo's face in his hands once more, his voice low and tender. "I can't believe it," he said, his lips brushing against Milo's. "You're mine. Forever."

Milo laughed softly, his eyes shining with happiness. "I always have been," he teased, resting his forehead against Victor's. "And I always will be."

The reception was a celebration of love, laughter, and happiness. The guests danced, drank, and enjoyed themselves, but for Milo and Victor, it was all about each other. They shared the first dance as a married couple, swaying together under the twinkling lights that hung above the garden. The music was soft, slow, and intimate, allowing them to be in their own world for a while longer.

As the night wore on, the stars above seemed to shine even brighter, as if the universe itself was celebrating their love. Milo and Victor stood hand in hand, gazing at the world they were about to build together, knowing that no matter what came their way, they had each other. And that was all they needed.

When the night came to a close, Milo and Victor slipped away from the reception, retreating to their private suite. They lay in bed together, the soft sheets tangled around them as they held each other close. Milo rested his head on Victor's chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart.

"I never want this moment to end," Milo whispered, his voice barely audible.

Victor kissed the top of his head, pulling him even closer. "It doesn't have to. We've got forever, Milo. And I'm going to make sure every day of it is as perfect as today."

Milo smiled softly, his heart full. As he drifted off to sleep in Victor's arms, he knew one thing for sure—his happily ever after had just begun.
