Shadows of the Mind

The golden light dimmed as Daniel and Mira stepped onto the stone bridge, which stretched precariously into an abyss of swirling shadows. Each step echoed in the oppressive silence, and the void below seemed alive, shifting and writhing like a hungry beast waiting for prey to fall. The air itself carried a weight that pressed against their skin, whispering threats too faint to understand but chilling enough to unsettle.

Ahead, an enormous gate floated in midair, shrouded in a veil of silver mist. It was massive and ancient, carved with intricate patterns that seemed to twist and shift, depicting battles, triumphs, and tragedies. From a distance, the carvings were hypnotic, but up close, they seemed almost too alive, as if the gate itself was watching their approach.

Mira broke the uneasy silence, her voice sharp yet hushed. "I don't like this place. It feels... wrong. Like it's trying to get inside my head."
