Chapter 29

Ivy and Julian sat on the couch in the penthouse, looking out the window at the city below. Julian knew everything about Ivy's situation—about Victor's obsession with her, about the way he controlled her every move, about the way he made her feel like a captive.

"Hey, sis, how are you holding up?" Julian asked, putting his arm around her shoulders.

Ivy shrugged. "I don't know, Julian. I feel so trapped. I just want to leave and start a new life, but Victor won't let me."

Julian's expression turned angry. "I know, Ivy. I'm so sorry. We're working on a plan to get you out of here, but it's not easy. Victor has eyes and ears everywhere."

Ivy nodded. "I know. I feel like I'm being watched all the time. But I have to get out of here, Julian. I have to escape."

Julian squeezed her shoulders. "We'll get you out, Ivy. I promise. We just need to be patient and wait for the right moment."
