39_ Sienne Grace Cacia

What Maevie had in mind before she returned to the Cacia mansion was not this. She had totally forgotten that someone would appear for tomorrow's event. How did it even slip her mind, she didn't know. The whole Cacia family were discussing more excitedly about her return than the party itself.

Now, she was suddenly greeted by the person's face in the living room as soon as she walked in and she did not get the time to prepare herself.

Two pairs of eyes met, without a single word of exchange. The other person then moved her eyes away from her as she continued her conversation with her family. The rest of the Cacia were still unaware of the new arrival…

Maevie had imagined this scene a thousand times since she came back. But now that it was happening, she did not know how to react. Her heart was overwhelmed by the mixture of emotions that were raging like lava.

Sienne Grace Cacia. The only daughter of the Chairman of the Cacia Group, the adorned princess of the family. The one whom Maevie hated the most in the past.

But now, Maevie did not know how to feel about her. She thought that she had spent hundreds of years, correcting her way, living different lives, so she would not feel the same as in the past when she saw Sienne. That she would feel the hatred, the jealousy, the envy, and the need to covet.

But she was proven wrong. She still felt jealous. That Sienne had had a happy and complete family while hers was broken to pieces. Maevie still envied the love that Sienne got wherever she went. While she had to prove herself in every step.

At the same time, Maevie felt guilty that Sienne had to go throw her childish abuses and tantrums.

She now knew that what she felt for Sienne cannot just disappear because she lived a hundred different lives. She cannot 'unfeel' what she felt for Sienne. She still hated her, blamed her and even to some extent believed that the younger girl deserved what she had done to her.

Because she herself was a prey of the other girl.

All she could promise was that she would not commit any foolish action like she used to before and get herself to be more hated by others.

"How's your preparation for your debut going on?" Mr. Cacia asked his daughter.

"We've already finished recording the song. We'll start learning the choreography after the final arrangement is out."

"Hmm…" Father Cacia nodded. "Do your best."

Mrs. Cacia looked at her daughter and felt that she had become even more thin.

"Are they restricting you from eating? Why did you get so thin?" Her worried eyes turned to ones that were of blaming as she turned to Llyod.

"Llyod James Cacia!! Is this how you promised you'd take care of your sister? How can you make your sister starve?"

The accused son almost choked when he was called by his full name.

"Mother. I'm sure Sienne is not being starved."

Sienne giggled at the helpless look of her second brother. She then came to his rescue.

"Ma…" She hugged her mother's hand. "We're on a diet for sure. But no one is being starved by the company. And the diet is not extreme. I'm not even that thin. You just love me so much that you even noticed me losing five grams of weight."

"But still… I feel like my baby is being bullied."

"Who would dare bully the only daughter of the Cacia family?" Sienne looked at her father and brother who were giving her a proud and reassuring smile. "I have my tall, strong and powerful father and brothers whom everyone is afraid of to protect me."

"Yes!!" Abel exclaimed. "Who would dare bully our only sister?"

And as he stood up, he saw the lonely figure standing at the entrance.

"Oh! You're back." He greeted Maevie.

As though alarmed by his words, the rest of the family looked at her. Then looked at Sienne who had no emotion on her face. Even Abel who was ignorant most of the time got the underlying worry of the rest of the family.

Maevie and Sienne had never been on good terms. Some could even call them enemies. And whenever they came face to face, Maevie was sure to make some comment about Sienne.

And the latter would also reply with some of her own that would end with Maevie doing stupid things.

In the past two months, the Cacia family had seen how much Maevie had changed. But there was still some worry that she would not change when it came to Sienne. So, they sucked in their breath, not knowing what would happen next.

Maevie had still not taken her eyes off the other girl. Sienne then looked into her eyes once again and gave her a winning smirk under the cover of the cup of tea from which she was sipping.

Maevie almost scoffed. The younger girl was intentionally showing off to her how much her family loved her and showered their affections to her. If it was the Maevie from before, she would have not been able to withhold such provocation and snapped.

And that was how Sienne intended her to react.

But Meavie had grown up now. She could now weigh her advantages and disadvantages, and handle her emotions.

She broke her eyes away from the younger girl and replied to Abel.

"I'm back."

"Ahamm!" Llyod cleared his throat. "How was the result of the audition? What did Wander say?"

"The role has been given to someone else. I'm free for now." She replied as she went to the sitting area and took a seat beside Tyler.

"Don't sweat it. Let your second brother give you another resource." The oldest of the siblings poured her a cup of tea as he comforted his cousin sister.

Maevie thanked Tyler before turning to Llyod and giving him a cheeky smile.

"I'll be thanking Second Brother in advance."
