Never Had It to Begin With

"Dead Wave!!!"

Jose gathered a massive amount of dark energy between his hands.

BOOM——!!!

The fiery dragon clashed with Jose's ultimate spell, unleashing a terrifying explosion.

"Damn it… what's with this brat?! How can he use so many different types of magic? I can't let him keep this up!"

"Shade Soldiers!!!"

Jose unleashed a surge of dark energy, summoning a horde of shadowy warriors.

"Kill him!"

"Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!!!"

Kitaro exhaled an ocean of flames, engulfing all of the shadow soldiers in an instant, vaporizing them on the spot. Even the lake behind Fairy Tail's guild evaporated, leaving behind a vast stretch of dry land between them and Phantom Lord.

"Holy crap… that's insane!!!"

The Fairy Tail members were completely shocked. They'd seen plenty of fire magic—Natsu was living proof of that—but compared to the sea of flames Kitaro just released, Natsu's fire looked like a candle.

At this moment, they felt like Kitaro was far more deserving of the title 'Fire Dragon.'

Natsu's jaw dropped, and before he realized it, drool was trickling from his mouth.

"So much fire! I've never seen this much fire in my life! This could last me an entire year!"

"If I hang out with Kitaro, I could eat fire every day… That would be paradise!"

"You don't seem to have any new tricks left, huh?" Kitaro looked at Jose with a hint of disappointment. "And here I thought the Ten Wizard Saints were supposed to be impressive. What a letdown."

He had only been toying with Jose, using this fight as an opportunity to practice some of his rustier jutsu. He was curious to see how magic compared to ninjutsu.

So far, he had only used C-rank and B-rank jutsu.

Of course, the power of a jutsu depended on the user. Even though he was using B-rank techniques, the sheer force of his attacks rivaled the S-rank jutsu of elite jonin.

And now, he had a pretty clear understanding of Jose's strength.

"At best, this guy is on the same level as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. He's nowhere near strong enough to be my opponent."

"You damn brat! You've really pissed me off now!!!" Jose's face twisted with rage.

Who does this kid think he is?! I'm one of the Ten Wizard Saints!!!

And he's treating me like some weakling?!

Jose gathered dark energy around his hands and slammed them into the ground.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ground shattered, and ghostly beams of black energy burst from the earth.

Kitaro casually clenched his fist and threw a punch.

CRACK! CRACK!

A wave of shock energy surged forward, colliding head-on with Jose's magic.

BOOM——!!!

Jose's spell was obliterated, and the shockwave shot straight toward him.

"W-What?!"

Jose's face turned pale. His magic had been completely overwhelmed. He quickly leaped aside to dodge.

SWOOSH!

Kitaro appeared in front of him in an instant, launching a kick.

"What—?!"

Jose hadn't expected Kitaro to close the gap so fast. In a panic, he summoned a magical barrier.

BOOM——!!!

CRACK! CRACK!

The shield shattered instantly.

"GAHHHHH!!!"

Jose was sent flying.

"Master!!!"

The Phantom Lord members were horrified to see their guild leader getting tossed around.

"Rainbow Fire!!!"

One of the Phantom Lord's Four Elements, Totomaru, unleashed a blast of multicolored fire.

"Water Style: Great Waterfall Jutsu!!!"

Kitaro spewed out a massive water sphere.

The enormous water blast instantly extinguished Totomaru's flames.

"GAHHHH!!!"

Then the force of the water struck him head-on, sending him flying.

"Plâtre Sonata!!!"

Sol, another member of the Four Elements, used broken rubble from the destroyed guild to form a gigantic stone fist and launched it at Kitaro.

Kitaro raised his hand and casually caught it.

"N-No way…" Sol was stunned. This was his strongest magic, and Kitaro had stopped it with one hand.

"Here, you can have it back."

Kitaro casually tossed the giant stone fist back at him.

"NONONO~~~!!!"

BOOM——!!!

The massive stone fist crashed into Sol, sending him flying across the Phantom Lord ruins, carving a deep trench before he finally stopped, unconscious.

"Water Lock!!!"

Juvia, the water mage of the Four Elements, trapped Kitaro inside a massive water sphere.

This magic immobilized enemies in water, cutting off their oxygen until they lost consciousness.

"HUMMMM——!!!"

A vibrating force radiated from Kitaro's body.

SPLASH!!!

The water sphere instantly collapsed into droplets.

Kitaro casually punched the air.

"AHHHHH!!!"

Juvia screamed as she was sent flying.

At that moment, a figure silently appeared behind Kitaro, his eyes filled with excitement.

It was Phantom Lord's strongest mage among the Four Elements—Aria of the Sky.

"Metsu~!!!"

"AHHHH!!! SUCH SORROW!!!"

"WHY DO I FEEL SO SAD?!! AHHH!!!"

"IS IT BECAUSE A GREAT MAGE IS ABOUT TO PERISH?!!"

Suddenly, a voice interrupted.

"Hey, I'm not your dad, so why the hell are you crying like that?"

"What?!!"

Aria froze. He looked ahead—and saw Kitaro standing there completely unfazed.

"N-No way… How is this possible?!"

"Your magic should be completely drained!!!"

Kitaro smirked. "Magic? I never had any to begin with, dumbass."
