A Glimpse of Normalcy

“It seems to affect people differently. But getting an eye infection, of all things—what bad luck.”

“...I know.”

Heesoo felt helpless watching Minjoo struggle.

With no doctors or anyone to help them in their dire circumstances, she worried endlessly about what would happen if Minjoo went blind.

This experience taught them a harsh lesson—they stopped eating any fruits they found in the forest.

As a result, their condition worsened.

Heesoo’s cheeks grew visibly hollow.

One day, as Minjoo gazed at her reflection in the water, she froze like a stone.

“What’s wrong?”

“Oh, it’s nothing.”

Though she dismissed it, her face had turned deathly pale.

After that, Minjoo remained silent for a long time.

Heesoo, assuming it was due to their dire situation, tried to stay calm.

She didn’t want to show her own sadness and make things harder for both of them.
