UNKNOWN POV
I was fascinated by her voice, though I couldn't see her face in the darkness. I could tell that it was a woman's voice filled with sadness and agony. Her voice conveyed many unsaid words that no one else could understand. She reminded me of her.
I got up and walked toward the stage. I could see the colored sequins on her dress. I was just a few feet away.
I was about to touch her when suddenly she stopped me as the people cheered for her. I guessed her performance was over.
I went back to my seat, feeling a bit disappointed. Maybe I'll see her later.
I glanced at my watch, impatiently waiting for my assistant. She was running late.
"Great, this is the third time this week. I definitely have to find a better assistant."
Just then, my phone began to ring, and I immediately picked it up.
"Janet."
"Madam, I'm really sorry, but I won't be able to make it to the meeting."
I shut my eyes tightly and opened them more slowly.
