KARLIAH POV
It felt like I was drowning, but I had to remind myself that everything was going to be fine and that I was still alive.
"So, this is where you'll be working, and your duties are very simple."
"All you'll need to do is put on a happy, friendly smile for the customers, take their orders, and also make sure that they receive everything they ordered."
I jotted down each point in my notepad and put on a poker face to show that I was very serious about this job.
Lucas offered me a friendly smile.
"You know that the job isn't that complex, right?" he teased playfully.
I smiled at him and tucked my notepad into the pocket of my apron.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just a bit nervous."
He patted me on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, it's okay. I remember my first day. I was a total chatterbox, especially around beautiful girls like you."
I could feel the heat in my cheeks, so I looked away, pretending to be distracted.
"Come on, let me show you around."
