Chapter 13

KARLIAH POV

I sighed deeply as I looked around the station. I was finally leaving this town, and there was no going back.

I glanced at my wristwatch, impatiently waiting for Matt because he was supposed to meet me here thirty minutes ago.

Maybe I just had to accept that he wasn't going to show up.

I could hear the train coming in the distance. I stood up and grabbed my luggage, ready to leave when the train came to a stop and the doors opened immediately.

The conductor came out of the train.

"All aboard."

Other people began to enter the train. I was about to step inside, but I heard someone screaming my name, making me stop in my tracks. When I turned, it was none other than Matt.

A shy smile spread to my lips as I saw him running toward me, just like an athlete.

"Karliah!"

"Karliah, don't leave!"

I placed my luggage on the ground.

Once Matt was finally face-to-face with me, he looked out of breath, and I felt worried.

"Matt, are you okay?"
