A Deal

Chapter 14

The trip back and forth was not far so she quickly got back to see the kids playing with mud and sitting obediently as she instructed. Feeling relieved she headed to where she kept her clothes and started washing it. In this time, there was no detergent so people used stone to pound the clothes or soaked overnight to loosen dirts.

She was also going with the pounding method to wash hers. Within 30 minutes she was done and sweaty all over. Feeling uncomfortable she spread the clothes to dry and went inside to take a bath. They didn't have any wooden tub for proper scrubbing she could only use the space to bathe thoroughly.

Flashing into the space she noticed that something has changed again. The mist lingering in the space has completely disappeared leaving the full size visible to her. The space was at least the size of ten football Fields. There was a hut suited at the middle of the space directly facing the lake. Even the rooms had been merged together but with the things inside properly placed on racks and separated for easier identification.

Apart from the weapons and medicine she also noticed something like a warehouse. There was nothing in it but it took at least half the size of the space. She guessed it was for storing things. Sighing in astonishment she made her way to the lake and stripped before diving into it. As she soaked she remembered something important. There was nothing to eat but as she laid into the lake she remembered that fishes could be found in the stream which could be eaten.

She could also go deeper into the mountains to look for more mountains goods. If she was lucky and acquired a ginseng or any other medicinal herbs which could sell for a high price then she could improve the family living condition. With the thought she relaxed and soaked in the water again. She had noticed that her skin no longer seemed dry and cracked after drinking the lake water and soaking in it. Also, the lake seemed to have some self cleaning properties which means that it naturally cleans all the dirt in it leaving it new.

So that was why she wasn't afraid of drinking it. Also why she was using it to cook and bathing the children. So they all could be healthy inside and outside. After bathing she stepped out of the space and appeared at her room. She searched for any clothes and luckily found one, wearing it she made her way outside. It was now 4pm according to her observation and the village was now lively with children playing and laughing. Smokes rose from the kitchen creating a beautiful scenery from where she stood.

With her observation she knew her cheap husband was going to be home. She went in side and relying on her memories made the fire to warm up the food. As soon as she was done she had the kids shouting for joy a smirk curved her lips as her intuition proved correct. Placing the food on the table she went outside to find the kids telling their father how their day went.

Sensing her presence, he looked up at her his eyes with filled with surprise. This woman not only bathed the kids but also cooked for them. She even gave them good names and made they kids happy. If not for the face she would have suspected she was an imposter and killed her immediately. She calmly stared back at him without flinching which made him notice something different.

"Xiao Yu and Xiao Ming, you both wait I have to talk with your mother okay" Xiao Shan gently coaxed the kids before walking up th her. They both went inside and he found a plate of steaming chicken kept on they table probably for him which made him more suspicious.

"Speak. What do you want now? I'm warning I don't care what games you're playing but don't hurt my children. As for the food, you can have it after all it might be poisoned". Xiao Shan sternly warned.

Su Ying had to admit that the man before her was handsome. Even though he was wearing coarse clothes it still couldn't hide his aura. And those commanding temperament with his piercing eyes could only belong to someone who had wielded power. Regaining her clarity she replied his words,

"Rest assured Xiao Shan I do not intend to harm the kids. They're my children too. I agree that I was cruel to them before but now I'm trying to change".

Xiao Shan scoffed. Although the woman's eyes were sincere who knew if she was faking it. This was not the first time she was acting like this, pretending to change them when he gave a chance she would always mess up. Not a chance this time. He was going to separate with her and take the kids with him and leave.

"Listen. We're separating tomorrow. They only reason I tolerated you was because my children needed their mother but I have seen you're not fit for it. There is no need to give in to whims and tantrums anymore so we are separating".

Su Ying eyes widened in shock not because of the divorce but at the thought of how difficult her life would get after divorce. This era was where women needed a man for everything. They were not capable of doing anything so she had to negotiate with the man.

"Xiao Shan I will agree to separate with you if you agree to my condition. Firstly, it has to be kept a secret. You can write up the separation agreement and I will sign on it after six months. Secondly you can not have any relationship outside until we're properly separated. Agree to this and the separation is set".

Xiao Shan looked at the cunning woman in front of him and angrily agreed. The deal was good. Just six months and he could leave with his kids without her making a fuss. He could also stay at home and observe what she was up to within that period. With that he agreed

"It's a deal then. After six months you're leaving without making a fuss and in return I will keep it a secret for you".

Smiling in relief, Su Ying nodded in agreement and the deal was set. She just had to make money with his protection within the period and she would leave.
