Chapter 53
Alaina's POV

"I want you to leave now, Henry, she is here!" Keisha said in a sharp whisper, her head farting sideways like a bird searching for juicy worms to eat. Henry said something I could hear, and Keisha stepped closer, wanting to talk but Henry wasn't having it.
Henry shook his head, tired, the kind of tired that looked more like resignation than exhaustion. I couldn't begin to imagine what could be happening here. "I'm done with this, Keisha. Done with your games, your jokes. We've been married for a year. A year, and all we've done is lie and hide. I can't keep doing this with you, honestly."
Keisha stepped closer, her voice biting into my ears. "You don't get it, do you? This isn't about you being tired, Henry. It's about what's at stake. Are you that dumb to get it? You want to back out now that we are closer to achieving what we always wanted?"
