Chapter 3 - A TRAP WITH NO ESCAPE
Jensyn gasped as a firm hand clamped over her mouth, stifling any sound she was about to make. Her senses were instantly flooded by the sharp scent of male cologne and the weight of a body pressing against her.
"Quiet!" The low, urgent hiss of Linden Rawlings came, his breath hot against her ear as he continued, "If you scream, we'd be caught."
Jensyn's body stiffened, her heart pounded in her chest. She was about to fight back, but something in Linden's tone stopped her. He wasn't being a jerk or cruel; he was just being careful.
When Linden removed his hand from her mouth, Jensyn took in a shaky breath, her eyes scanning the room. Shelves lined the walls, stacked high with neatly folded towels, toiletries, and boxes of luxurious bathroom essentials. Jensyn knew their value because she had worked in a hotel before.
Her stomach twitched in anxiety as she responded. "I heard the voice of someone familiar."
