"Yes President Luiss?" Ariana asked after knocking on the door and entering upon his consent.
"You are supposed to be working here." Luiss looked unhappy as he pointed at the empty desk at his side.
Ariana felt the way Luiss was looking at her was somewhat weird, far from professional aloofness. It was as if he was a predator and she his prey.
Ariana shrugged off the weird feeling and replied: "I have my things in my main office so it would be inconvenient."
"Well then, have them all arranged here."
"I'm used to working alone," Ariana grumbled.
"Then you need to work on your habits." Luiss got up from his chair, circled the table and stood right in front of her. "Ms Grey, I have noticed you have been working too hard lately." He said as he rolled a loose strand of hair around his finger.
Ariana blinked.
The distance between them was too close and Ariana was itching to step back. But she held her ground.
Ariana gave an exaggerated bow of gratitude. "I'm grateful that President Luiss acknowledged my hard work." The bow made her put some distance between them, a breathing space.
Luiss' lips turned up into a smirk.
"Are you grateful?"
"Of course I am!"
"Then I want you to do something for me."
"Anything President Liuss!"
"Then I seem to have developed a taste for the Great Fox cuisine. I am craving their honey lavender roasted duck a lot. I want you to accompany me to the restaurant."
Ariana was flabbergasted. Was he asking for a date?
She quickly opened the relationship stats.
[Relationship with President Luiss.
Affection/Friendship 10%
Romantic Interest 15%
Sexual interest 30%
Respect: 30 %]
The stats have significantly improved since last time. Ariana suspected it was the attraction buff at play here. The stats were indicative of a person you would like to date.
"Why the Great Fox cuisine, President Luiss. I know far better places." She boldly remarked.
"Better places?"
"Yes, have you ever had ramen?"
"I have heard of it a lot. But never tried it."
"Then let me take you to a place. It should be my turn to take you, according to the rules."
Luiss appeared as if he was thinking over the preposition. Then he said. "Alright. Tomorrow after office time, I'm expecting you."
Ariana called the workmen and prepared to shift her stuff into President Luiss' office. It was when she noticed the documents covered in ink.
"Fuck!" She picked up the topmost page and attempted to salvage it only to discover the dozen pages under the top page had been ruined beyond recognition.
"How did this happen.?" She was certain when she left the pages were fine and the ink was far away from the documents.
"Oh my God, this is a big deal." She realized it soon because questing a copy from Voss corporation would take a week at least. She went outside and asked the lady at reception, "Did you see anyone going inside?"
"No, Secretary Grey."
"Have you been absent from here for a while?"
"Yes, I went away during lunch break."
Ariana looked up at the CCTV and asked the reception lady to get her that from the control room. Putting the recording in the laptop, they found a person entering the office just as Ariana left to see Luiss. Unfortunately from the angle, only her back was visible. And came outside while covering her face.
From her figure Ariana had a hunch on who was it.
"Margarate..."
In the original novel, Margarete and Steven had helped the female lead, Lucia to get rid of Ariana. So she had been keeping an eye on them. So it was the accumulated resentment that prompted them to help the female lead.
"Ms. Grey, what you gonna do? You have to brief the executive staff tomorrow." The reception lady worriedly asked.
"Don't worry about me. I will figure something out." Ariana said thinking it was a close call.
If not for her having won 'Photographic Memory' Buff after successfully countering Alexandre's rebellion, she would have been in deep shit. She went inside her office.
While the workmen were busy shifting her stuff into President Luiss's office, she got into the tedious task of writing down the prepositions on her laptop. She wrote down graph, made stamps and logos similar to original document, something that was impossible for human. Once done, she printed it out and checked it.
There was not an ounc of diffrenece between the copy and the original.
