Chapter 17: Sword Fighting

When Kamaris fight was over he walked over to them while having a big smile on his face. The smile quickly disappeared when he saw the serious look on Vexx and Blakes faces. "What happened, did someone die?" 

Vexx shook his head and just told them both to follow him. When they had walked for a couple of minutes Vexx felt like he could talk freely without anyone hearing. 

"Next week we are going to another planet to hunt and we will be separated into teams of 5. When I was walking today I got forced into joining a group with Naomi Howl and Sky Hill, he said and sighed in the end. They said that I could choose the last two members if I wanted. I want you to join if you want."

When hearing about the hunting Kamari tensed up. "Are we going to fight real monsters?" He said. Blake nodded and started to explain. "They do the same thing every year. They weed out the trash and only the best is still standing in the end. To be honest at first I thought it would be bad to team up with the number one student as she probably has many enemies who will try to kill her during the Hunt. But after thinking about it we have too many people for them to act so it should be fine." Blake said and looked at Kamari. "I'm in" Kamari said and they walked back towards the arenas.

The Next day wasn't anything special and so came the third day at the academy. When Vexx woke up he saw the message he had gotten for the past three days. He needed four more nights before he whould level up. The morning wasn't anything special. He got dressed and walked out the door and headed to breakfast with Blake and Kamari.

The first lesson of the day were their courses they did on the first day. While Vexx was headed to where they had their training he came to a strange building. It had a round shape and was very big, almost like a stadium. When he walked in he saw some students standing around chatting while some were standing along the wall concentrating. 

Vexx decided to stand in the back and saw how there were many who surrounded a person Vexx knew. It was Naomi who was bombarded with questions on fighting with a sword. When everyone was there they were around 50 students. After another minute he saw a long woman with red hair that had a knight uniform on walking in from one of the back doors. Vexx looked at her and felt a cold pressure from her. The feeling reminded him of when he fought against the Dark Tyrant only much less prominent.

When she stood in front of all the students it became silent and she looked att everyone individually in the room. After two minutes she started speaking. 

"Hello my name is Rose. I will be your instructor for a year." 

Vexx looked at Rose and remembered that she was one of the people who watched the evaluation fights. 

"You all have chosen to fight with weapons in close range so you all will get to choose a training weapon and then we are going to try fighting each other." Said Rose with a stern look on her face. When she became quiet there were some people rolling in a table with weapons on.

When Vexx walked closer he could see almost every type of weapon in the world. More than half of the weapons Vexx had no clue on how to use. When he saw how the people who had walked forward at the same time as him had started choosing weapons, Vexx needed to see if there were a Nodachi. Vexx looked at the weapons stats and saw that all had the exact same stats and weren't impressive at all. 

Vexx looked all over the table and eventually found a Nodachi. When he walked forward to it he saw how almost everyone had chosen a weapon. Vexx quickly went and took the long sword. 

When Vexx walked back he felt like he was being watched. When he turned around he saw how Rose was staring daggers at him. Vexx shrugged or the feeling and walked back. 

"Now that everyone has chosen a weapon you are gonna fight each other. I will let you challenge any opponent who you want. Vexx looked around and everyone started looking around and asking for battles. Before Vexx could do anything he felt a hand on his shoulder. It took everything to not go with his natural instinct and punch the person.

"I challenge you to a fight!"

Vexx remembered the annoying voice and turned around to see the student who had claimed that he was going to climb to the top. Vexx sighed and accepted. 

"What's your name?" Vexx asked the student "My name is Justin." He said and held two axes in his hands ready to fight.

When Vexx saw the message he smiled and took his long Nodachi and then they began. Vexx saw how the muscular student in front of him probably was stronger than him but he looked stiff and not flexible at all. Vexx ran forward and saw how Justin got ready to block his attack. 

Vexx started to swing the long blade right at Him Justin stood there with a smile on his face ready to strike before Vexx had been able to execute his strike Justin charged forward and hacked with his axes in the air. When Vexx saw what was happening he quickly changed the position of his blade so that he could block the incoming strikes. 

When Vexx had backed away he tried the same thing again but when he was two meters in front of Justin Vexx swung his blade and jumped off the ground. When he was in the air he spun his body with the flow of the swing and he landed right behind Justin with the sword right at his throat.

Vexx felt refreshed and looked at his stats
