Anna sat on the plush couch in Alexander's office, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her dress. The tension in the room was thick, but Alexander appeared calm as he reviewed some documents on his desk.
The door opened, and Marcus stepped inside, his face a mask of professionalism. "Sir, Carter Industries is downstairs. They're requesting a meeting with you."
Alexander didn't look up from his papers. "Send them to my office."
Marcus nodded and left, leaving Anna and Alexander alone again. She glanced at him nervously. "Are you sure this is necessary? Maybe you should let it go."
Alexander's sharp eyes darted to her. "Let it go? Anna, they humiliated and hurt you. Actions have consequences. I won't allow anyone to disrespect you without repercussions."
