Liam pushed open the heavy double doors of the operating theater, exhaustion evident in every step. His surgical scrubs were stained with sweat, and his face was paler than usual. He rubbed his forehead, trying to steady his breathing before facing the people waiting outside.
Reginald was the first to rush toward him, his hands clenched into fists at his sides, his eyes filled with raw desperation. "Liam," he choked out. "How is Alexander? Did his broken ribs cause complications?"
Liam shook his head, exhaling heavily. "No, it wasn't just the broken ribs," he admitted, his voice hoarse from hours in the operating room. "The accident caused severe internal damage that we didn't detect earlier. His spleen had a slow rupture, and his kidneys were failing due to internal bleeding and clotting issues. His body was going into multi-organ failure."
