Chapter 26
Damian sat on the edge of the bed, already dressed in a crisp black suit, his tie perfectly knotted. He brushed a hand gently over Tanin's cheek, his touch warm and soft. "Good morning, my love," he whispered.
Tanin stirred, her lashes fluttering open to reveal sleepy eyes. She smiled at the sight of him, but her exhaustion lingered from the restless night. She had slept late, her dreams haunted by the vivid encounter with Goddess Selene and Emily, her wolf. Her body felt heavy, as though weighed down by the significance of the revelations she had received.
"You're already dressed?" Tanin asked, her voice hoarse with sleep. "Why didn't you wake me? I could have prepared for work and gone with you."
