Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Tanin drove like a madwoman, her hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles turned white. The streets blurred past her as adrenaline coursed through her veins. She couldn't think of anything else but Damian, the panic in his voice, and the mocking laughter of the woman who had spoken to her on the phone. She pushed the car harder, the speedometer needle climbing higher as she ignored traffic signals and the honking of other drivers.

When she finally arrived at the company building, most of the employees had already left for the day. The parking lot was eerily quiet, the usual hustle and bustle replaced by an oppressive stillness that made her stomach churn. She stormed inside, her heels clicking against the polished floors as she headed straight for the elevator.
