Chapter 50

The afternoon sun filtered through the hospital blinds, casting soft golden streaks across the room. Tanin lay on the hospital bed, her head resting against the pillows, a serene yet exhausted expression on her face. The IV fluid hanging beside her bed had finally run dry, and when the nurse came to remove it, the doctor followed closely behind, checking her vitals with a satisfied nod.

"You're stable now," the doctor said, offering her a kind smile. "You can start eating light meals. Soup, porridge, something gentle on your stomach."

Tanin's eyes lit up with relief. The weight of the IV needles and the constant beeping of machines had been suffocating. The thought of eating actual food, something warm and comforting, filled her with unexpected happiness. She instinctively placed a hand over her stomach, a soft smile tugging at her lips.
