The cool night air wrapped around Tanin as she stood outside the grand palace gates, watching the taillights of her parents' car disappear into the distance. Thiam had given her a proud smile, and Emily had kissed her forehead tenderly before they left, offering their final words of encouragement.

"Rest well, my daughter. You're a mother now, but you're still our little girl," Emily had whispered, her voice full of emotion.

Tanin stood for a moment, letting their words settle deep in her heart. She had always dreamed of this moment—being surrounded by family, friends, and most of all, her own children. Yet, she knew this was just the beginning.

She turned back toward the palace, adjusting her silk robe as she walked inside. The grand hall was nearly empty now, the decorations still shimmering under the golden candlelight. The warmth of the night's celebration still lingered in the air, but exhaustion was starting to weigh on her.
