Damian exhaled, rubbing his face. He was exhausted, too, but he knew sleep wouldn't come easy with three unpredictable pups in the house. He turned back toward the cribs, watching over them like a guard dog.

Caius was completely knocked out, his little chest rising and falling peacefully. Lucian, however, stirred slightly, shifting in his blankets. His tiny hands clenched, and his brows furrowed as if he were debating whether or not to wake up.

Damian narrowed his eyes, stepping closer. "Don't even think about it," he whispered.

Lucian made a tiny grumbling sound.

Damian crossed his arms. "I mean it. I will not be terrorized tonight."

Lucian's lip trembled. His face scrunched up, the telltale sign of an impending wail.

Damian leaned in, his voice dropping to the deep, commanding tone of a true Lycan King.
