Chapter 87
After finishing lunch, Tanin spent the rest of the day pretending nothing had happened. She laughed with her family, played with her pups, and ignored the storm raging inside her heart.
She wasn't ready to think about Liyana.
She wasn't ready to believe in her excuses.
And most of all—she wasn't ready to face the truth.
As the evening stretched on, Emily and Thiam finally decided it was time to return home.
Tanin followed them outside, standing by their car as the night breeze gently brushed against her face. The cool air did little to ease the turmoil inside her.
Emily turned to her daughter, her expression soft yet filled with wisdom. She cupped Tanin's cheeks, making her look at her.
"Tanin, I know this is hard for you," Emily began, her voice gentle but firm. "And I know you're angry, confused, and hurt. You have every right to feel that way."
