Tanin's mind raced, her fingers tightening around the photograph behind her back as she tried to steady her breathing. She could feel Darius' sharp gaze drilling into her, his expression unreadable, but she knew he was waiting for an answer.

She had to act fast.

Taking a deep breath, she straightened her posture, tilting her head slightly as if she were offended by his tone.

"I could ask you the same question, Darius," she said smoothly, forcing a small frown onto her face. "Why are you sneaking up on people?"

Darius arched a brow, clearly not expecting that response.

"This is my room," he pointed out, crossing his arms.

Tanin sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes. "Yes, I know. I wasn't 'sneaking around' if that's what you're thinking." She forced a small smile, trying to appear playful. "I was just curious."

"Curious?" His voice was laced with skepticism.
